Hi everyone! Kelly Daye here today with here on Paige's blog today to share with you the layout I created for my challenge for International Scrapbook Day in Paige's Happy Scrappy Place Facebook Group!
The challenge I chose was HAND STITCHING! I used Paige’s fabulous new Splendid collection and two coordinating cut files: Sketch & Stitch Geometric Butterfly and Geometric Butterfly. I’m a colorful butterfly with flowers in my hair and I love to fly through life sprinkling love on everyone and everything. Paige’s cut file made the holes for stitching on white cardstock. I used all 6 strands of DMC Floss. I used the second cut file to make the paper pieces inside the stitching. In Silhouette Design space, I first made an Interior Off-Set of the cut file and assigned each section a color. This became my ‘color map’ for both the stitching and paper selection.
I used Paper 6 and Paper 13 to make all the pieces. They were popped up with foam squares. I embellished my butterfly with hand stitched Floral Die Cuts, Chipboard Stickers, and pretty foiled flowers and leaves from the 8-Page Sticker Book. Good news! The Mini Foam Thickers are back with Splendid!! They include both a colorful set and a gold foil set and you’ll want more than one package! My title runs along the band on the bottom of my layout made with both sides of Paper 5 and also my personal favorite, Paper 1. Again I added a line of hand stitching. There’s the Bluebird of Happiness resting on my title, she’s from the 8-Page Sticker Book too. I finished it all off with Epoxy Stickers and Flower Sequins.
