Hi everyone! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Paige's cut files and the gorgeous Splendid collection! For this layout I used Paige’s Sun Cut File and her Borders Cut File. I absolutely adore Paper 16 that looks like blue jeans and knew I wanted to make a pocket with it. I thought a title of “Pocket Full of Sunshine” would be fun, and there just so happens to be the word “SUNSHINE” on Paper 14 so I used that for part of the title.
I cut Paige’s Sun Cut File out of white cardstock, made an offset, and cut that out of orange dotted Paper 17. I backed the entire sun with yellow Paper 5 and then added mini foam Thickers on top of the sun for part of my title. I drew a pocket on scrap paper to get the size and shape I wanted and then traced it onto Paper 16 (the blue jeans paper) and cut it out. I drew lines around the edge and poked holes with a T-pin so I could stitch along the border with yellow embroidery floss to make it look like a real jean pocket. I also drew a decorative design across the middle, poked holes, and stitched that with navy embroidery floss. With the pocket completed, I tucked the sun design behind it. I poked holes and stitched around the word “SUNSHINE” from Paper 14 using a chain link stitch, then placed that at the bottom of Paper 12 which serves as my background. After adding my photos on the right side I embellished with fussy cut flowers from Paper 20, Chipboard Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book, Washi Tape, and one of the flowers from the Cross Stitch Kit. I also cut a scalloped border from Paper 8, and added a strip of floral paper across the bottom of the layout from Paper 21.
I had so much fun creating this layout with the Splendid collection! I hope this inspires you to create something with this vibrant and gorgeous collection!
