Hi friends! Missy Whidden here with a new layout featuring Paige’s Splendid collection. I wanted to start with the Washi Tapes so I created long strips creating a rainbow color scheme. I stuck the tapes to smooth white cardstock and then cut them and distressed the edges. I glued and machine stitched the strips to Paper 2. I love that bold pink paired with all the colored tapes! I smudged a little bit of white gesso over areas of the tape and then added a small amount of blue, green, and yellow Shimmerz sprays behind and above the top photo. To add fun texture, I used a palette knife to scrape texture paste down and then pressed tiny beads into it. I repeated this at the bottom of the page as well as around the title area. I splattered white acrylic paint to create those bold white dots.
These Washi Tapes are so bright and fun! It’s really easy to make strips. I positioned the strips close to each other but I left just enough wiggle room to bend up the edges to let the pink paper show through. I used several Chipboard Sticker flowers and circles here on the strips - I scattered them around but kept the stickers on the coordinating color of tape.
I created a cluster here for the title. I first fussy cut the large XO from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I fussy cut a few blue flowers from patterned paper and the 8-Page Sticker Book to layer around as well as a bigger Chipboard Sticker flower. I used the colorful mini foam Thickers for the title to describe my mischievous daughter’s face (LOL) and then nestled in a few more stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book. I tucked in blue and yellow threads for added color and texture. I used an Epoxy Stickers and added more of the tiny beads. I used a white pen for my journaling and it shows up really well on the dark pink paper!
I layered white tissue paper and a bit of paper from the 12x12 Paper Pad behind the photos. Here you can see the awesome texture from the tiny beads and texture paste. These small flowers here are from the 8-Page Sticker Book.
I hope this sparks some ideas for you on how you can use the Washi Tape! They are a lot of fun and there are a lot of possibilities of what you can do with them. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
