Adventure Awaits Layout by Phil Donahue

Hi crafty friends! Phil Donahue back on Paige's blog with a new layout featuring her Splendid collection and Adventure Awaits Cut File!

This Adventure Awaits Cut File went perfectly with a picture of me during a hike with my friend's puppy Ollie while on a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah. One of my favorite (and one of the easiest) techniques for using cut files is to simply cut multiples and layer them together to create a dimensional and impactful accent for any page! This technique works especially well with text cut files to create a title. For my layout, I created a half and half page: the bottom half used the green side from Paper 10 and the top half, as well as the mountain-like middle layer, were from both sides of Paper 16. I cut out more pieces from the multi-colored paper and placed one each on the top left and bottom right corners of the page to create areas of embellishments. I used the 8-Page Sticker Book and all the aqua flowers and leaves from Splendid I could find! To finish I accented the layout with green enamel dots and splatters of white acrylic paint.

I hope you find some inspiration in this layout! Thank you for stopping by!

  1. Love this idea of stacking & layering for the title. How many layers did you cut for this look?

    1. Six layers! I was able to fit them all on one 12x12 by readjusting a couple to be vertical.
