Fall Layout by Amber Mitchell

Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you a very exciting project: my first ever scrapbook layout! Having entered the world of crafting through 3D projects and mini albums, scrapbook layouts have always been a bit out of my comfort zone. But, with the help of some fun cut files from Paige and the beauti-FALL Bungalow Lane collection, I'm happy to report that I thoroughly enjoyed this process and am in love with this finished layout!

To create this layout, I first started by cutting the two larger pieces of this Sunburst Cut File by Paige with my Cricut machine. I cut these pieces from papers from the 12x12 Paper Pad. Next, I used one edge from a pair of scissors to distress all of the edges of each piece. I then used the largest piece as a template to map out where I wanted to add paint on a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock. I didn't have watercolor paints that would match the colors of Bungalow Lane, so instead, I used acrylic paint that I thinned out with glaze. I used a sponge to apply a thin coat of paint, stippling it to create a more textured look. I used a light pink paint, a light blue paint, and a mustard yellow paint for this process. I also added a few splatters of white acrylic paint using a paintbrush. Once the paint dried, I added the largest sunburst to the painted sheet of cardstock using double-sided tape. Next, I added the smaller sunburst on top of it after running each strip of it through my sewing machine. I propped this piece up with foam tape to create dimension.

Since this layout is all about Fall adventures, I used Paige's Leaves With Stitching Holes Cut File. I cut these leaves from various Bungalow Lane papers and stitched five of them using embroidery thread in coordinating colors. I chose to document a photo of my mom and I during our annual pumpkin farm trip from last year. I layered this photo in the center of the sunburst cut file, along with the stitched leaves and some of flowers and leaves from the Floral Die Cuts.

To create a title, I used a sentiment from the Cardstock Stickers. To finish things off, I added a few buttons from the Embossed Puffy Stickers and a few more icons, such as a butterfly and tab, from the Chipboard Stickers.

I had so much fun putting this layout together! And I'm excited to experiment with scrapbook layouts and various techniques in the future! Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I'll see you next time with another fun project!

  1. Well you rocked it so hard! Love the colours you put together. So funny that you find LO's more intimidating than the gorgeous and intricate mini's you make. Of course, I'm the other way around :D 💗
