Hi friends! Ashley Neu back for the Paige Evans Cut File Design Team! Today I'm sharing this layout using her Splendid collection and Happy Scrappy Cut File to document the announcement photo for the current Design Team! It’s something that is special to me and I just have to make sure that I get it scrapped and in a book.
I decided to cut the Happy Scrappy Cut File from black cardstock this time which is very different from what I usually do. The reason I did this is because I knew I was going to use a black and white patterned paper as well as rainbow colors to back the cut file. I really wanted the cut file to stand out! I found a rainbow of gold foiled patterned papers in the 6x8 Paper Pad and used them to back the “scrappy” word. To have some contrast from the rainbow letters, I grabbed the black and white floral paper also from the 6x8 Paper Pad to back the word “happy”. I love the end result! I added the cut file and photo onto white cardstock and also added Washi Tape to the top and bottom of the cardstock to add colors and textures to the background. To finish the title off, I added the word “team” using the gold mini foam Thickers on top of the word “scrappy”. I grabbed this cute purple and gold doily border from the Chipboard Stickers to add right on top of the scalloped border of the cut file. This seemed like the perfect element to underline the tiny word “team” so that it didn’t get lost! Because there was so much color going on with the title, I wanted to keep the embellishing fairly simple so I added just a few things: a gold frame from the 8-Page Sticker Book trimmed in half and adhered it on each side of my photo, and a tab and sentiment sticker on top of my photo. Lastly, I stamped these adorable butterflies from the Acrylic Stamps in black ink then stitched butterfly trails with black thread. I also added a small heart from the Enamel Shapes to each of the butterflies to add just a bit of color.
Phew! That seemed like a long process for a fairly simple layout but it actually went rather quickly! I hope you enjoyed reading the process and hope you have a wonderful day! See you next time!
