Hi friends! Kelly Daye here with a new layout using Paige's cut files and Splendid collection! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve made a wreath layout and I really had the itch. I always love combining lots of patterns and color into a layout and any one of Paige’s wreath cut files work so great for it.
I’ve used Paige's Lace Doily Cut File to create a pretty background beneath the wreath. I have a Cameo tutorial to show you how. I cut it out of white cardstock and chain stitched a border with 6 strands of white DMC Floss. Once stitched, I popped it up with foam tape over Splendid Paper 1.
Paige’s Circles Doily Cut File became my wreath. All the papers are from Splendid and I chose colors to look like a color wheel with each color repeated three times in the wreath. Odd numbers tend to look better in a design. Once paper-backed, I chain stitched each section with coordinating colors of DMC floss then popped the wreath up over my background with more foam tape. Layering all-the-pretty things from the collection, including Buttons, Epoxy Stickers, Enamel Shapes, Heart Paper Clips, and the Floral Die Cuts gives this layout lots of texture and dimension. Finally, I added gold thread into the floral clusters, some sequins for sparkle, and dabs of gold Stickles and gold acrylic paint.
You can see it all come together in my Smile Layout Process Video on YouTube today!
