Hi everyone! Kelly Daye here, just back from Paige's Splendid Weekend event in Denver! It was full of lots of color, lot’s of fun, and lots of wonderful friends! I took this cute photo of Paige in her magical craft room and there’s a selfie I snuck in too! We all got to take more photos at the event under a gorgeous balloon arch and trade MemoryDex cards in cute boxes made by sweet Paige and Andrea. I’m still pinching myself!
I wanted to make a layout full of sparkle and lots of pretty color, just like our fabulous weekend together. I’ve designed with Paige’s Geometric Background Cut File and of course, the gorgeous Splendid collection. You can watch my Cameo Tutorial on YouTube to see how I worked with Paige’s cut file for this design. I used the 6x8 Paper Pad and Paper 19 to make all the pieces on the right side, grouping different shades of each color together. Instead of paper-backing the cut file, all the patterned paper was popped up with foam tape. On the left side, I stitched with 6 strands of DMC floss, again grouping many shades of each color together. In the center I added four photos on a diamond shaped frame that I chain stitched with gold thread and a rainbow of sequins. It's popped up with two layers of foam tape for extra texture and dimension. To really connect the title to the main element, I added it on the upper left, slightly overlapping my photo frame. I used the pretty gold foiled Epoxy Stickers. For balance, I added another sticker to the lower right, again, overlapping my framed photos. Then working from the lower left, on an angle to the upper right, I layered colorful Chipboard Stickers, leaves from the Floral Die Cuts, and the tiny flowers from Layered Bouquet Stickers. Finally, a few dots of paint made with the tip of a small paint brush.
Please feel free to connect with me if you have any questions! Happy scrapping! Cheers, dears!
