Hi everyone! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Paige’s cut files and the beautiful Bloom Street collection. This layout uses two cut files: the Sunburst Rays Background and the Caterpillar. The inspiration for this page came from a play doh caterpillar that my daughter created. I love scrapbooking the little moments that happen every day. I’ve come to realize that my kids’ interests change very quickly, so I love capturing and documenting their current hobbies and activities. I snapped a few photos of my girl and her caterpillar and was excited to make a layout using Paige’s adorable Caterpillar Cut File.
I started by cutting the Sunburst Rays Background out of white cardstock and removed the bottom section to allow the design to flow into the rest of the layout. I used watercolors to paint a yellow/peach/pink background onto another sheet of white cardstock and placed my white sunburst on top. I stitched along the seams in shades of pink and peach embroidery floss for added texture and definition. I then placed the completed sunburst onto Paper 10 from the Bloom Street Digital Collection and stitched the outer rays (where they meet up with the background). The Caterpillar was also cut from white cardstock and backed in a variety of patterned papers from the Bloom Street Digital Collection. I added a strip of Paper 4 at the bottom of the layout and added hand stitching along the seam in variegated green embroidery floss. My photos are mounted onto a journaling card from the ephemera pack and I added a title using a Foam Phrase Sticker from the Bungalow Lane collection and some sentiments from Paper 13 of Bloom Street. Lastly, I added some hand cut clouds with stitching and a few fussy cut butterflies.
I hope this inspires you to try combining cut files when making a layout! Have a wonderful day!
