Leaf Layout by Kelly Daye

Hi friends! Kelly Daye here with another layout using Paige’s beautiful new collection, Garden Shoppe. I’ve paired it with the Leaf from Paige’s 20 Fall Cut Files 2021. Speaking of bundles, I’m super excited for the 20 Days of Autumn Cut Files 2022 starting on November 1st!! Join us here and at Paige’s Happy Scrappy Place Facebook Group every day until November 20th for fun and creative inspiration!

I wanted to use this cut file because of all the paper and patterns I could incorporate on the left while hand stitching on the right. After paper backing and chain stitching with DMC embroidery floss, I trimmed off a bit of the leaf and added that bit back to the upper right. That gave me a nice space for photos and ‘all-the-pretty-things’. I added an offset of vellum to the back of the cut file before popping it up with foam squares onto Paper 19. It made a nice transition from the busy cut file to the colorful patterned paper.

The 6x8 Paper Pad gave me lots of choices for backing the cut file. Blue and yellow faux polaroid frames from Paper 16 provided a pretty place to add my 2x2” photos. There are so many sweet embellishments to build up your layers and add texture! I added Butterfly StickersCardstock StickersFoam Phrase StickersFloral Die Cuts, and Enamel Button Stickers all around my photos. I also used several items from the seemingly endless 8-Page Sticker Book. All the little things have my heart. I finished it off with tiny splatters of white acrylic paint, a bit of gold paint, and a few sequins from my stash!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope this layout inspires you to check out Paige's 20 Fall Cut Files 2021 and the 20 Days of Autumn Cut Files 2022 along with her new Garden Shoppe collection!
