Hi friends! Heidi Lewis here on the blog today to share a warm and cozy layout on a wintery day. The Angel from the 20 Days of Christmas Cut Files 2020 is one of my all-time favorite cut files! This is actually my third project with the angel cut file: I’ve made two mini albums with it, which can be viewed here and here. This time I wanted to use the Angel on a 12x12 layout.
To make the layout, I cut the Angel from white cardstock and backed it with Paper 19 from Garden Shoppe. Backing an intricate cut file with a single sheet of colorful paper provides a wow factor without the tedium of backing each little piece! Instead of keeping the cut file as is, I was inspired by Paige’s 2019 December Daily where some of spreads feature a split cut file. The blank space in between the sectioned cut file was the perfect place to tuck in a photo of angel-shaped sugar cookies. For embellishments, I simply fussy cut two letter boards from Paper 12. I also added a few gold snowflake stickers from my stash and white acrylic paint splatters to give the layout a wintery vibe. My layout was finished off with a title made with Thickers.
Hope you feel inspired to make something with this beautiful Angel cut file!
