Hi friends! Kelly Daye here to share a fun Christmas layout made with Paige's pretty and colorful Splendid collection and the Banner from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2019.
I love the challenge of using a non-holiday collection like Splendid at this time of year! My holidays are filled with a rainbow of color and I envisioned a design to match. I made an offset of the Banner with bright green Paper 10. The yellow ribbons are Horizon Paper 1, available from AC Digitals. To add more texture, I chain stitched the edges of both. The title was made with Thickers from Paige’s Pick-Me-Up collection - the font is fabulous for a holiday layout and the colors are perfect with Splendid. All the flowers were fussy cut from Splendid Paper 1 and arranged into three collages to make that visually appealing triangle. I tucked in a faux letter board from Garden Shoppe Paper 12 that says, ‘Warm and Cozy’. I think that describes Santa pretty well that day, LOL! The striped border was made by mitering two 1” strips of Splendid Paper 3 - it’s so festive and ties my entire layout together. The big surprise? The rainbow sprinkles and shiny baubles along the striped border are actually baking candy I bought at Homesense! Do they match or what?! They’re sprinkled on ¼” wide super sticky tape. Have you ever added non-scrapbook supplies to your layouts? I was tickled by the results. Finally, I used some gems and a stencil from my stash to add a rainbow of sparkle to the background.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope this layout inspires you to check out the Banner from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2019 and use non-Christmas collections on your pages! I can't wait for Paige's official Christmas collection next year :)
