Once upon a time I made this mixed media layout and never got around to sharing it :) No time like the present! I used my Wonders collection and London for Stitching & London Skyline cut files.
I even have a process video for this page! Check it out:
I started by adding gesso onto the dark blue B-side of Paper 6 and let it dry. Then I splashed Pastel Dreams and Tropicals watercolors on top and let that dry (or actually sped up the drying time by using a hair dryer.)
I used a Zig 2 Way Glue Pen to make painterly marks and topped the wet glue with Gold Flakes - I love this effect!
I used the London for Stitching cut file to have my machine pierce the holes and did a chain link stitch with a different colored thread that matches Wonders for each letter. I filled the "O"s with photos of me and Chris in London :)
I die cut the London Skyline from white cardstock and added it at the bottom along with journaling written with a white pen below. Below that I attached the patterned barcode strip from the same Paper 6. To finish I added a couple Floral Die Cuts, bits and pieces from the Chipboard Stickers, and an Ephemera Die Cut.
I hope you are inspired by this layout to combine lots of mixed media like gesso, watercolors, hand stitching, and gold flakes! Let me know if you have any questions!
