Snowflake Layout by Audrey Mutschall

Hi friends and Happy New Year! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Paige’s Sketch and Stitch Snowflake Cut File. I’ve admired this beautiful cut file for a long time and with all the cold weather and snow we’ve had recently, it was the perfect excuse to stay inside and spend a few days stitching it!

I chose white cardstock for my background and then picked out shades of pink, turquoise, and green embroidery floss for the design. I stitched the entire snowflake using a chain-link stitch and all 6 strands of embroidery floss. This was such a fun pattern to stitch because every layer added more depth and dimension, and the shape continually changed. Sometimes it looked like a flower or an ornament, and other times it looked more like a snowflake. With the stitching complete, I decided to use the Splendid collection to embellish the layout. I matted my photo onto three foil papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad and placed it on the right side of the snowflake. I added an Epoxy Sticker for my title, a couple of Buttons, and a few sequins for sparkle. I kept the embellishing minimal so that the focus remains on the beautiful snowflake!

I hope this inspires you to try one of Paige’s amazing sketch and stitch designs—she has so many gorgeous ones!
