I'm so excited to share my first layout & process video with Blooming Wild - now available at scrapbook.com!
This page features one of my absolute favorite papers from the collection: Paper 14. All the tiny flowers and details make my heart go pitter patter! Check out the process video to see how this page came together from start-to-finish:
To begin, I trimmed off the barcode strip of Paper 14. Then I grabbed a craft knife and slid a craft mat underneath the paper. Using the dashed lines as guidelines, I carefully sliced partially around them all across the background.
After slicing through a section I lifted and bent that area upwards to create really cool texture, dimension, and shadows! This is a great technique for busy papers like this and especially ones with butterflies/hearts: trim partially around the wings and hearts and lift them up to create a similar look. Since you can see under the slit sections, I backed the whole page with a sheet of white cardstock.
Next I added a 3.5" square photo to the center using foam squares then added a "beautiful" title sticker from the Puffy Phrase Stickers. Then I embellished around the photo with mini flowers also from the Puffy Phrase Stickers. I fussy cut a light blue label from Paper 13, wrote a line of journaling at the bottom, then tucked it under the photo. Under the top edge of the photo I tucked a "beautiful" Cardstock Sticker. To finish, I added a little bird and butterfly from the Ephemera Die Cuts overlapping white space on the photo.
That's all there is to it! Easy, breezy, beautiful! I'm so glad I was able to figure out a fun way to feature this dramatic & stunning Paper 14 and hope it inspires you to check out my entire Blooming Wild collection and try out this cut & bend technique!
