I have a new layout & process video made with Garden Shoppe to share with you today!
Check out the process video to see how this page came together from start-to-finish:
I began by using a Flower Embossing Punch with Paper 4 and Paper 6 to make a bunch of flowers and also made leaves by trimming green flowers into pieces. I chose the black & white striped B-side of Paper 13 for my background and found two 3x4" photos of Jane twirling at church.
I applied white gesso to the bottom right section, let it dry, and then painted and splashed Pastel Dreams and Tropicals watercolors on top to match the colors of Garden Shoppe. I also splattered white acrylic paint. Then I added the two photos and cascaded the flowers and leaves over the mixed media.
Next I covered the photos with scratch paper and splashed more white acrylic paint as well as gold paint and black paint from Vintage Pastels watercolors on top to tie everything together and create uniformity. I die cut a "beautiful" title from white cardstock and black cardstock, offset them, then layered them across the bottom of the photos using foam squares for dimension.
I embellished with Foam Phrase Stickers, transparency buttons and sentiments from the 8-Page Sticker Book, an Ephemera Die Cut, and 3 Butterfly Stickers. I wrote journaling with a black pen below the title to finish.
I hope this layout inspires you to use my Garden Shoppe collection with the Flower Embossing Punch and try your hand at mixed media! Let me know if you have any questions - happy to help!
