Stitching Cut File 36 of 36: Love Love Love

The 36th and last of the 36 Cut Files for Stitching is Love Love Love!
For my layout, I cut the Love Love Love onto white cardstock and then used lots of colors of thread that match Blooming Wild to do a chain link stitch through each letter. I punched the left and right page edges with a pretty border punch and backed those edges with the pastel hearts Paper 20. I trimmed two 1/4" x 11.5" strips of the pastel rainbow ledger Paper 5 and stitched them next to the punched edges. After adding a 4x3" photo to the middle heart and embellished tone-on-tone with more hearts from the Puffy Phrase Stickers, Sticker Book, Cardstock Stickers, and Chipboard Stickers. I placed a sentiment sticker from the Cardstock Stickers overlapping the right edge of the photo and finished by writing journaling in the bottom heart. I love my family and this page helps evoke those feelings!

Here is another layout made with today's Love Love Love from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Emma Kate! She says, "Hey scrappy friends! For this page I made a copy of the cut file & lined the two of them up. I used a running stitch in a selection of blues & one bright pink 3 strand embroidery thread. I put together the bunting by punching out semi-circles from Bungalow Lane papers then machine stitched along the tops so I could raise them to add dimension. To complete my page I fussy cut a handful of florals, adding them above & below my photos. I sprinkled color coordinating sequins vertically on my layout to finish!"

Here is one more layout made with today's Love Love Love from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Lacey Robin! She says, "This layout began with hours of stitching so I knew I wouldn’t want to cover it all up! I added my photo to the center of the middle heart and used patterned paper from the Wonders collection to make fringe to back the other hearts. I finished it off with minimal embellishments in a triangle to keep your eye moving around the page!"

Stitching Cut File 35 of 36: Geometric Heart

Design Team Member Amber Mitchell created this sweet mini album! She says, "I'm still new to hand stitching so having the chance to work with this cut file was a great way to practice the technique! When it comes to down to it, I LOVE the end result of this project and can't wait to try something like this again in the future! I love how the stitching looks on the front cover and how much it pops and stands out!"
"The first step to creating this project was the covers. I used two sheets of medium weight chipboard that measured 6.5 x 6.5 inches. I wrapped the back cover using the same white cardstock that I planned to use for the stitched cut file on the front cover. In order for the stitched heart to fit on the 6.5 x 6.5-inch cover, I had to resize the cut file down to size. I then centered the cut file on my cutting mat to ensure that I would have enough space around the edges of it to wrap it onto the chipboard. After my Cricut cut the holes I used embroidery thread in different pastel shades to stitch each section. I tried to coordinate the colors of the thread I used to the colors in the Blooming Wild collection. With the cut file stitched, I wrapped it onto the second piece of chipboard, turning it into the front cover. To create the spine for this project I used a piece of Paper 5 that measured. I scored this paper on the 5-inch side at 1.5 inches on both ends (this gives the project a 2-inch spine). I then attached the covers to the spine using the tabs I just created. I finished off the base by lining the inside covers using a dark navy paper from the Garden Shoppe 12x12 Paper Pad. To create the four journals for this project, I used four 6 x 12-inch sheets of paper that I trimmed from the following Blooming Wild papers: Paper 3, Paper 12, Paper 23, and Paper 24. I folded these sheets in half and then rounded the corners. Next, I added four sheets (folded in half) of bullet journal paper to each - this gives each journal 8 pages for documenting and photos. Finally, I added the journals to the spine using white elastic cording that I painted in coordinating colors using watercolors. Embellishing this project was so much fun! TheBlooming Wild collection has so many fun elements to work with! On the right-handside of the front cover I added a cluster that I created using Chipboard Rounds, Floral Die Cuts, and Chipboard Stickers. Along the spine I added a sentiment and flower sticker from the Puffy Phrase Stickers. I machine stitched over these to keep them in place permanently. As always, to finish off this project I created a dangle of tassels and charms that I clipped on to the spine. This time I also included some handmade pom pom charms to the dangle as well. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next time with another fun project!"

Here is another project created by Design Team Member Ashley Neu using the Geometric Heart! She says, "I grabbed the original Geometric Heart Cut File to use the inner pieces with the Geometric Heart for Stitching. I added Washi Tape from the Garden Shoppe collection in those inner pieces to create a colorful heart. I finished the layout off with some Floral Die Cuts and a title piece from the Foam Phrase Stickers."

Here is another layout made with today's Geometric Heart from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Sahana Abhiram! She says, "For this layout I did a back stitch with shades of pink and have added a lot of different shaped beads and sequins. The angel in the element sheet matched with my angel in the photo so I loved pairing them together. There's a little pom pom and pink crochet lace details. Hearts and pink are my favorite! Hope you love it as much as I do!"

Stitching Cut File 34 of 36: Stripes

Thursday, March 30, 2023

For my layout, I cut the Stripes onto white cardstock and then used lots of colors of thread that match Blooming Wild to do a vertical stitch connecting pairs of dots to make chevrons. And then in between I stitched with white thread to make a entirely stitched background! It looks like a lot of stitching but it actually came together in about 4 hours which is pretty fast for a stitched page :) After finishing up the stitching I added three 3x4" photos down the right edge and tucked a ric rac border from the Cardstock Stickers under the right edge. To add some pops of color and interest I placed a small sentiment from the Sticker Book on all the white lines of stitching. For the journaling, I tucked a yellow bracket framed Journaling Spot under the left edge of the photos and wrote with a teal pen. The title "AWESOME" Is fussy cut from Paper 22 and placed between the top photos and then I embellished with transparency words from the Sticker Book directly on the photos. To finish I made three clusters of embellishments around the photos using button Chipboard Stickers, small flower Cardstock Stickers, and little birds trimmed from a border sticker in the Sticker Book. I hope this page inspires you to try this fun and unique Stripes for Stitching Cut File!

Design Team Member Yui Oku created this ADORABLE page! She says, "I love the small Flower Charms in the new Blooming Wild collection so I used all of them in this layout! When I finished stitching, I thought, 'This is not cute, maybe I should untie all the threads and start over... I should have just sewed normally...' lol. But then I put strips of the cute floral Washi Tape between the embroidery which really brought the page to life! I added Floral Die Cuts around my two photos to embellish along with a tab from the Journaling Spots and transparent 'LOVE' letters from the Sticker Book. The navy became a nice contrasting color!"

Here is another example with today's Stripes by Design Team Member Heidi Lewis! She says, "When Blooming Wild arrived on my doorstep I wanted to start creating with it right away! The Stripes is one of the fastest and easiest cut files in the bundle. Using a running stitch and DMC floss 4505 this layout only took me 1.5 hours. Once the stitching was complete, I placed a 4" square photo in the center. I framed the photo with Floral Die Cuts and a title made from the colorful Thickers. A couple of button Chipboard Stickers and transparency stickers from the Sticker Book finish off the page. If you don’t normally do a lot of hand stitching, this cut file is easy enough for beginners!"

Here is another layout made with today's Stripes from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Lacey Robin! She says, "On this layout I chose an ombré thread to give it character. I didn’t want to cover all the beautiful stitches so I chose to cut the patterned paper and add it between the stitches. I used a background paper from the Wonders collection and some Simple Stories to embellish!"

Stitching Cut File 33 of 36: Seashell

Wednesday, March 29, 2023

The 33rd of the 36 Cut Files for Stitching is a Seashell!
Design Team Member Noelle Culp created this fun page! She says, "For this layout I used the plain Seashell Cut File to make a slightly smaller seashell from Garden Shoppe Paper 21. After my Silhouette cut out the Seashell for Stitching I glued the shell that I cut out of the patterned paper down and stitched around it in white embroidery thread. I added my photos and also some Leaves that I cut out from different Garden Shoppe papers. I finished with a few Floral Die Cuts, a Thickers title, splashed some copper paint, and a few sequins!"

Here is another layout made with today's Seashell from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Cindi Green! She says, "For this seashell I wanted to create a background that looked like a shell so I started by spraying a sheet of Vicki Boutin White Foundations Media Paper with Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass and Spiced Marmalade with a dash of Mica Stain. I let this dry completely overnight before cutting the holes of the Seashell. Next,I stitched the inner sections of the shell with six strands of floss in orange and blue colors using a backstitch. I made sure I wore plastic gloves because I didn't want to transfer any of the ink onto my hands and onto another part of the project. For the top layer, I cut out only the outer section of the shell on another sheet of ivory cardstock and stitched the outline of the shell using a chain stitch. I cut out the inner section and then popped it up with foam squares and laid it on top of the stitched inner portion of the shell. I finished the layout by adding my photos and a title and a few embellishments from the Vintage Coastal collection. I hope you enjoy this and try adding some mixed media to your stitching projects!"

Stitching Cut File 32 of 36: Butterflies

Tuesday, March 28, 2023

Design Team Member Valerie Bisson created this artistic page! She says, "I started with white cardstock and then added watercolors splattered all over the background. For the hand stitching I chose 8 colors to stitch with and repeated them down the page in a backstitch. Next I added two photos matted with Blooming Wild Paper 20 which gave a nice overall rainbow of color around the photos. I also used the same paper to punch out a whole bunch of tiny butterflies to scatter across the page. For embellishment and a title I used pieces from the Puffy Phrase Stickers, Journaling Spots, Sticker Book, Chipboard Stickers, and Cardstock Stickers. The finishing touch was the cute Flower Charms added to the centers of some of the stitched butterflies!"

Here is another layout made with today's Butterflies from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Malou Wagner! She says, "I decided to use all the colors of the rainbow as Zita loved being petted by everyone who came for a visit. Once all the butterflies were backstitched I cut out a sample butterfly so I could trace the butterflies on different papers matching the colors of the thread. For this I used Garden Shoppe papers and a paper from Bloom Street for purple. I attached the butterflies with French knots to add dimension. I glued the photo on two papers from Garden Shoppe and distressed the edges of the paper. I added journaling on a tag and also put a small title on the tag with mini alpha stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book and a Foam Phrase Sticker. I finished by adding a few enamel dots here and there!"

Stitching Cut File 31 of 36: Best Friends Forever

Monday, March 27, 2023

Design Team Member Jackie Ashton created this sweet page celebrating friendship! She says, "First I cut the file from white cardstock and then chose threads that corresponded with the Blooming Wild colors. After stitching the design I printed my photograph to fit onto a cut-apart journaling card, adding some layers behind using patterned papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. To embellish I added flowers from the Cardstock Stickers and Mini Flower Puffy Stickers. I placed the little birdhouse and bird from the Ephemera Die Cuts with 3D foam to add dimension. Under the stitching I added the hearts border from the Ephemera Die Cuts and added the ‘together’ word from the Puffy Phrase Stickers. Thanks so much for stopping by!"

Here is another layout made with today's Best Friends Forever from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Lady Nany! She says, "I love documenting my friends' birthdays so when I saw this cut file I fell in love. I stitched with different shades of orange thread using different types of stitches. The result is a combination of 3 shades of orange and fun textures! For the background I chose Paper 20 from the Splendid collection and decorated it with butterflies from Paper 3. I used a tag from the Ephemera Die Cuts to write the journaling and hid it in the envelope behind the photo. Lastly, I added a label sticker to put the date and little details with enamel dots!"

Stitching Cut File 30 of 36: Flower Wreath

Sunday, March 26, 2023

Design Team Member Audrey Mutschall created this fantastic page! She says, "For this layout I chose embroidery floss in shades of pink, orange, blue, and yellow to coordinate with the beautiful Garden Shoppe collection. Each flower is stitched in a different color using a chain link stitch - my favorite stitch for adding lots of texture and dimension! With the stitching complete, I added a white button to the center of each flower and stitched it on using green embroidery floss. I added a few watercolor paint splatters to the center of the page and then spent some time fussy cutting flowers and leaves from Paper 2. I layered these into a circular cluster and placed my photo on top. To embellish the corner of the page, I cut a square of Paper 20 and backed it with Paper 1 then flipped one corner over and held it down with a cross stitch of embroidery floss. I made two of these double-sided squares and placed them on opposite corners of the page then added a few fussy cut flowers underneath. Lastly, I added a tag from theEphemera Die Cuts which serves as my title. I hope this layout inspires you to spend some time stitching this gorgeous flower wreath cut file! It’s always so rewarding to see a stitching layout take shape!"

Here is another layout made with today's Flower Wreath from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Chrissy Tingey! She says, "I stitched the Flower Wreath with three colors of thread to coordinate with the floral elements which were fussy cut from Splendid papers. I also stamped some flowers from the Acrylic Stamps onto white cardstock and fussy cut them out to become die cuts. I’ve added stitched circles to the center of the wreath where I added my photo and arranged all the fussy cut elements. The wreaths make a beautiful circle frame for my layout!"

Here is one more layout made with today's Flower Wreath from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Denise Holmes! She says, "I started by stitching the Flower Wreath with colored threads as close to the photos and paper I used for the background (Garden Shoppe Paper 3). When I had finished stitching I flicked some shimmery watercolors around the background. The photos show my granddaughters trying to do the flamenco dance, they were mesmerised. To embellish I used the 8-Page Sticker Book, Thickers , and Enamel Button Stickers."

Stitching Cut File 29 of 36: Paw Prints

Design Team Member Kelly Daye created this 'pawfect' page! She says, "I began by cutting the Paw Prints for Stitching out of white cardstock then before I began stitching I traced a paper heart on it with a pencil. My idea was to backstitch all the paws inside the heart with colored floss and outside the heart in white. We all love our pets so much and that’s why I wanted to stitch a heart into my layout. I topped my stitched background with Paige’s Flower Heart Cut File cut from Garden Shoppe Paper 2 and glued it to an offset cut from vellum. I decided my layout needed a frame so carefully cut 1/8" from all sides and taped it to another sheet of Paper 2. To add some shine I chain stitched around the frame with gold metallic thread. I filled out the heart with lots of tiny flower and leaf clusters, they’re printed from the Garden Shoppe digital collection. I always get the digital version of Paige’s collections, both to plan my layouts and to have endless ephemera. Not a fan of digital? You could also fussy cut flowers this size from the 6x8 Paper Pad. Sprinkled around the heart are buttons, both digital and Enamel Button Stickers from the collection. I topped the digital buttons with Diamond Glaze to help them match the shininess. I made my title from Thickers, Foam Phrase Stickers, and mini alphas from the 8-Page Sticker Book. Thank you so much for stopping by!"
