February 2023 Highlights

Here are our February 2023 highlights!
One morning Jane asked me to help her with her math homework but I learned math a completely different way so I am useless. Without even me asking him, Fox came over and helped her. It warmed my heart!! Also they're in a special art class together in school that meets for a half hour every Friday! This is the first time they've had a class together ever. Just in the nick of time since next year Fox will be in Middle School. How?!
While Fox was at a sleepover we took Jane out to dinner at Kneaders.
Me'n'Chris at Kneaders. Me'n'Chris at an Avs vs Calgary Flames hockey game.
Always so fun and action packed! My favorite was the tribute to Kadri, it was super sentimental. He was on the Avs last year and helped them win the Stanley Cup. Now he's on the Flames so he was playing against the Avs. The Avs won 4-1.
We saw Titanic in theaters for the 25th anniversary. Not only on a big screen but also 3D with Dolby sound. It was truly magical. I love this movie. Can't believe it's been 25 years.
We also saw M. Night Shyamalan's Knock at the Cabin which was interesting.
Our resident House Finches, Berry & Cherry, seem to be prepping to lay more eggs... I hope they wait a bit longer as March is typically the snowiest month!
Fox & Jane.
I needed pics for layouts so Jane was my model and you'll see these pics and the ones above used on lots of upcoming projects!
Super Bowl Sunday at the Evans'!
I helped Jane make her box for Valentines! Even with like 500 hand punched hearts she still didn't win "most hearty." I demand a recount lol!
Fox snuggling with Sandy and Phoebe in the background. Phoebe gave us a scare this month when she refused to eat which has never happened before in the almost 6 years we've had her. I was about to rush her to the ER animal hospital but then when I put her in the carrier she was acting totally normal. In the morning she was back to her cute fuzzy self. Phew!
Speaking of bun buns, this cutie came pretty close!
McDonalds for lunch one Friday when they didn't have school.
Fox building the next Lego minifigures series.
Me throughout the month. I wish I could curl my hair like my stylist does pictured on the right!
I watched the entire series of Brother vs Brother and thought it was funny when one episode they had Tarek & Christina from Flip or Flop and David & Hilary from Love It Or List It - I love all those shows and have watched every episode!
I read three Nicholas Sparks books in February: The Lucky One, The Last Song, and The Wish. I was reading them all in order of publication but I found myself rushing through them just to get to read The Wish again. I think it's my most favorite book in the whole wide world. Yup. I made up this "rule" so I defied it and read The Wish out of order because I can!! And I can't wait to read it again soon :) We also watched The Lucky One and The Last Song movies. There are 6 books in a row with movies but then his 6 most recent books don't! I googled the reason and apparently Universal has picked up some books to make into movies including The Wish and I'm so excited!! Hope it happens sooner than later!
Indoor bougainvillea blooming!
There has been snow on the ground since mid-November. It has not melted completely since then. This was taken the last day in February. That's 3.5 months of snow. I'm over it. I just am. So the indoor flowers pictured above really are good for my soul! I told Chris to tell me the second he sees flowers at Costco. Spring is coming!!
Our furbabies that bring me so much joy.
Amy Apple.
Sandy Mandy.
Why are boxes and bags the best cat toys ever?
They follow me everywhere all day and sandwich me in my sleep every night.
When I zoomed in on Amy's face in the above photo.... omg hahaha.
I love when I am away from home and I activate the Kitty Cam and actually see kitties!!

First step for shipping pre-orders: making boxes.
3 of my scrappy besties came over to help me open boxes, take everything out of the packaging, count everything, and then collate kits!
Kitties wanted in on the action.

  1. Pure sunshine at every turn Paige! Your newsletter is always so fun. I'm so glad Phoebe is ok 💛 ! Your kids are so kind and loving with each other, that's such a wonderful thing. Of course I love all your kitty cat photos. OMGosh, they're beyond cute. My kitty's follow me all day too. I've had to photoshop the odd hair out of a LO photo, ha! They walk all over everything. I laughed, then snorted at the close up photo of Amy 🤣 Crack me up! Your Texas projects look fabulous! Will you consider offering them as a virtual class? That bougainvillea is a breath of fresh air. Gads I'm eager for spring too. We have lots of snow here still, no lawn showing but hopefully it'll start warming up soon. We're having our yard re-landscaped this summer, so it'll be a big ol' mess. Currently, there are brick terraces that step down 4 times to the garage. They're tricky to navigate in winter, so we're levelling it into one patio of brick pavers with a bigger deck. We want to age in place because we love this area. Since I broke my knee, I'm really scared to fall again. Wow, I should sign off here, this is a bit of a novel. Toodles :D 💗k
