Stitching Cut File 10 of 36: Floral Butterfly

Thursday, March 9, 2023

Design Team Member Audrey Mutschall created this lovely page! She says, "I’ve used the gorgeous new Blooming Wild collection to embellish this layout and had so much fun playing with all the pretty elements included in it! I started by chainlink stitching the Floral Butterfly onto white cardstock using variegated embroidery floss. Then I splattered watercolors onto the right side in coordinating shades. I printed my photo in B&W to provide some contrast from the bright colors used for the stitching and other elements on the layout. I made a cluster of flowers and embellishments behind my photo using Floral Die Cuts, Chipboard Tiles, Chipboard Rounds, a tag from the Journaling Spots, and some bits from the Sticker Book. I made a small grouping of embellishments at the top of the layout using a ripped section of Paper 24, some Ephemera Die Cuts, and another Chipboard Round. My title uses the silver mini alphas from the Sticker Book along with a Puffy Phrase Sticker. Lastly I added fussy cut butterflies from Paper 16 around the page!"

Here is another layout made with today's Floral Butterfly from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Dhaarani Mathivaanan! She says, "“Happiness is like a butterfly, the more you chase it, the more it will evade you, but if you notice the other things around you, it will gently come and sit on your shoulder.” — Henry David Thoreau. I did a backstitch through Paige’s Floral Butterfly for Stitching Cut File and used colors of thread to match Splendid. I embellished with Floral Die Cuts and stickers also from Splendid!"
