Stitching Cut File 17 of 36: Love You

Wednesday, March 15, 2023

Design Team Member Valerie Bisson created this stunning page! She says, "I wanted to layer the Love You for Stitching Cut File so I started by creating an offset layer around the stitching holes using white cardstock. In Cricut Design Space I attached the stitching holes to the offset layer so that the holes and my outline would cut together. I backed the letters with Paper 11 and two photos. I made one more offset layer with Paper 7, distressing the edges a bit and adding it underneath the words. Then I hand stitched the letters in a chain stitch using DMC thread 151. I added the cut file to my background Paper 2. From Paper 21 I fussy cut the scalloped strips using 6 of them to border the edges of my page and machine stitched them in place. For my banner strung across the top of the page and flowers throughout I used pieces from the Ephemera Die Cuts, Mini Flower Puffy Stickers, and the Floral Die Cuts. Lastly, I added white acrylic paint splatters here and there to tie it all together!"

Here is another layout made with today's Love You from the 36 Cut Files for Stitching by Guest Designer Lady Nany! She says, "I used Paige's Wonders and Splendid collections to make this page and then selected my embroidery thread colors. I stitched each letter with a chain stitch using a different color of thread that I later combined with different embellishments: Floral Die Cuts, clear stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book, and Puffy Stickers. I selected Paper 2 from Wonders for the background and added the title with foam squares to add volume. I placed my photos, decorated, and wrote the date and journaling in the big heart of 'YOU' to finish this memory!"
