Flower Background Layout by Heidi Lewis

Hello from Idaho, scrappy friends! It’s Heidi Lewis here on the blog today to share a layout featuring a fun technique I learned from Paige. You can find her original tutorial HERE.
I started this layout by cutting 1/2 x 12 inch strips from the first 24 papers from the Blooming Wild 12x12 Paper Pad. Alternatively, you could also use the barcode strips from the double sided papers. I used the paper strips to cover an entire sheet of 12x12 cardstock. Then I cut out the Flower Background from textured pink cardstock and laid it over the top of my paper strips background. Keep in mind darker backgrounds will make the flowers pop more against the colorful strips of paper than lighter colors will. Next I printed a 3x4 photo and layered pink and blue embellishments around my photo. Sticking to a two-tone color scheme with the embellishments helps the photo pop against the busy background. I used the Floral Die CutsEphemera Die Cuts, pMini Flower Puffy Stickers, and the Sticker Book to make my embellishment cluster. I finished off with a title from the Chipboard Stickers and a journaling card fussy cut from Paper 13.
The technique for this layout is pretty easy to execute and will wow all your friends! I hope you try using the Flower Background Cut File and Paige's Blooming Wild collection!
