April 2023 Highlights

Here are our April 2023 highlights! I'll start with a cute pic of Amy atop a book tower, which needs no explanation, it's just that cute :)

Jane went to the mall with her best friend for the first time - it's a total rite of passage! She came home with sunnies and some random toys lol.

Fox is graduating from elementary school! How is that even possible? Those who have been with me since I started this blog, before he was even born, is time flying as fast for you as it is for me?! I blinked and now he's almost a teenager!

Fox and his friends participated in the school talent show.

They played instruments together and did awesome.

This is the 4th stray dog I've rescued living in Colorado. He was running up and down the street. When I went to try to catch him he ran back into his yard where the gate was opened so I shut the gate and all was well.

For Easter we went to Tom & Margi's.

They have chickens in their backyard which are so cute!

Seville the horse followed us around.

All the grandkids took turns making spirograph eggs and other Easter crafts.

I don't even know lol.

Jane donated some of her accessories to her younger cousins. Quinn loves it all.

We went out to an adult dinner with 3 of the 5 Evans siblings and Tom & Margi.

Mmmm pasta.

The kids didn't have school one Friday so we went to the mall to go shopping - they've both gone through a growth spurt and need new clothes.

SPRING IS HERE!!!

I got flowers at Costco already (before the "Mother's Day" rule) because if you don't get them right away you don't get them at all. We've done the "dance of the flowers" a few times, but we're supposed to have pretty good weather for the next while. I'm sure it'll snow again, and that's okay.

Jane got a little bug so I emailed her absence into school. Her teacher is the best.

I needed some strawberry pictures for an upcoming layout so we did a fast and fun photoshoot.

I've never seen her happier.

We said goodbye to our Nissan Altima that we've had since before Fox was born and replaced it with a brand new car that came with broken AC! I'm bitter lol.

The day my sister flew in for a visit from Vegas I swept and prepped the patio after a long winter. Ready for chillaxing!

I babysat my niece Zula while Allie got her teeth whitened.

We had steak and potatoes for dinner the third night then I made brownies for dessert.

My mom flew out here to Colorado last May to watch Fox & Jane while we celebrated our 15th anniversary. The day she got home to Seattle she made some lifestyle changes. Her then & now are amazing. SO PROUD OF YOU MALM! All the girls are flying to Vegas next week to celebrate!

Berry & Cherry, "our" House Finches, have hatched their first clutch of the season with 5 more babies! They've added 15 birdies in total to our trees so far :) This batch will leave the nest in just a few more days. I wonder how soon they'll have another clutch? Last summer they had 2!

I designed 8 free cut files in April: 4 for my Newsletters, 3 for my Happy Scrappy Place FB Group, and 1 for Scrapbook & Cards Today!

I taught my April virtual classes! First, a 3 Rings Mini Album!

And then a couple of layouts featuring Chevron Stripes & Paper Polaroid Frames!

Then I got prepped and ready to teach for the Crop & Create Papercrafting event with Scrapbook & Cards Today!

I taught how to make a double-page spread and 12x12 layout (along with a bonus page!)

I'll be teaching again at the Holiday Papercrafting event this November - Alumni Registration opens May 30, 2023, Noon ET and General Registration opens June 1, 2023, Noon ET on the SCT website!

On Saturday & Sunday April 15th & 16th 2023, Shara Crane and I taught an in-person event together in Newark, New Jersey called Blooming Wild Weekend! We also had guest teachers Kelly Daye and Vee Morales! Find the recap HERE.

I'm waiting for one more ribbon, an orange gingham.

Custom acrylics designed by me and cut by Jessica of Color Cast Designs for Halloween! Eeeeeek so spooktacular! I've also got custom sequins, enamel dots, a metal die, and MORE in the works! Hoping to release the kit & virtual class in September.

I'm also getting my upcoming 25 Foundation Pages kit & virtual class ready to release November 1st! Here are the adorable exclusive Christmas ribbons.

I'm waiting for 2 more designs - snowflakes and trees.
