Hello crafty friends! Kelly Daye here and I’m so happy to be back with a pretty pastel Halloween layout - Pastel-O-Ween! Truth be told, I’ve never been keen on traditional Halloween collections so what a treat to imagine this with colors I love from Paige’s Garden Shoppe, Blooming Wild, and Sugarplum Wishes collections. The cut file featured is Candy from the 13 Halloween Cut Files - you get 13 cut files for just $13! At just $1 each, that’s a steal of a deal.
To start, I arranged a bunch of Candies into a loose square frame and used the Weld Tool to connect them all together in Silhouette Studio. Then I cut it out of white cardstock. I paper-backed all the yummy candy with papers from Garden Shoppe, Blooming Wild, and Sugarplum Wishes. It’s awesome how Paige’s collection can all mingle happily on a layout like this. Once paper-backed, I back-stitched every nook and cranny with 5 strands of DMC floss, tone-on-tone. I just love the look so much. Stitching adds so much definition. The cute ephemera is all available in Paige’s shop and you won’t find it anywhere else! There’s the Hey Pumpkin Chipboard Stickers, it’s full of the cutest icons and these Paige Taylor Evans exclusives: Enamel Dots and a faBOOlous Halloween Roller Stamp! Since some of the chipboard items I used were black I wanted to introduce black into my layout too. First, I covered some of the dots in my background with black cardstock. Then I cut a shadow for my stitched cut file from pink cardstock and did a running stitch all around with 5 strands of black DMC floss. Ta-da, it all goes together swimmingly!
