Hello friends! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Paige’s Witch Hat from the 13 Halloween Cut Files! My daughter absolutely loves creepy things and often uses a ridiculous amount of black eye makeup to make herself look like Wednesday Addams. I’ve been holding onto this photo for a few months now and was super excited to make a Halloween layout with it. I’ve used the gorgeous Blooming Wild collection for this layout and I love how it turned out!
I cut the Witch Hat from black cardstock and backed it with a variety of patterned papers from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I stenciled a pattern onto the background using coordinating inks and splattered black acrylic paint in a few places to tie in the black of the cut file. I printed a 5x7 photo of my daughter and then cut her out of the photo, eliminating the background. I placed the photo in the center of the page and added the Witch Hat onto my daughter’s head so it looks like she’s wearing the hat. I stitched a few strands of hair using embroidery floss and then added a few extra spiders dangling from the hat. I twirled silver thread into little bundles and placed these by each of the spiders to give the effect of little spun webs. My title uses foam Thickers and I folded over one corner of the page so I could add more patterned papers behind it. I’ve used yellow star Paper 20, starburst patterned Paper 22, and pink striped Paper 16 in the corner for a little extra color and interest.
I hope this inspires you to check out Paige’s bundle of 13 Halloween Cut Files! This Witch Hat is absolutely adorable and so much fun to create with!
