Apples Layout by Heidi Lewis

Saturday, November 4, 2023

Hello scrappy friends, it's Heidi Lewis on the blog today to share a fall-themed layout! My parents have a large apple orchard that I help pick every fall. We make cider, applesauce, and pie filing, and then sell the extra apples. To represent this tradition, I created a garden shoppe scene with Paige's collection called Garden Shoppe, LOL.
To make my little garden market scene, I re-imagined the Leaves cut file as little apple trees by turning them upright. I intentionally cut the leaves from multi-colored Paper 11 to make it look like the leaves are changing color. I layered heart-shaped Foam Phrase Stickers on top of my trees to represent apples. To ground the trees, I created a Washi Tape road complete with little red truck Cardstock Stickers and clear stickers from the Sticker Book. I added a 3x4 photo to the left side of the photo and clustered some little shoppes from the Cardstock Stickers around it. Next I added a Thickers title to the bottom center of my page and clustered little animal stickers around the title. A few leaves blowing upward and some Enamel Dots help draw the eye upward to the rest of the page. The remainder of my layout was actually a happy accident. I spilled something on the page, so I just ripped off the top to remove the stain. This gave me an opportunity add the beautiful rainbow Paper 4 for the background and some pom pom trim, which gives the suggestion of clouds. Sometimes accidents end up being the best thing to happen to a layout!
Hope you feel inspired to pair Garden Shoppe with some of Paige's cut files!
