Hello friends and welcome spring! Kelly Daye here with a layout using Paige's Spring in Flowers from the 19 Spring Cut Files and her pretty Splendid collection! To back the intricate pieces of the Spring in Flowers title, I first made all the backing pieces in the Silhouette Design Studio. This makes backing the letters precise and goes much faster. Watch Paige’s video to learn the process: How To Have the Silhouette Cameo Create Cut File Backing Pieces.
The letters were cut from white cardstock. I recommend cutting the paper backing pieces one letter at a time because there is a lot to each letter. Once paper-backed, I popped up the letters with foam squares, leaving space for my photos. My white cardstock background was cut into a scalloped frame and taped to a sheet of Paper 17. Then I chain stitched around the scalloped frame with six strands of DMC variegated floss #4502. With this intricate cut file, I chose the embellishments sparingly. A sweet bird, from the Ephemera Die Cuts sits on a nest made from sewing thread. I added the gold hearts, a ‘sweet’ tag, and ‘wonder’ from theEpoxy Stickers. Finally, tiny flowers from the Cardstock Stickers seem to blow across the page.
Thanks so much for popping in, I hope I’ve inspired you to scrap with Paige's 19 Spring Cut Files and the Splendid collection is so perfect for the season!
