Hi friends! Valerie Bisson here and I’m so happy to share a fun summer road trip layout with you. My page features Paige's Vacation Memories from the 24 Summer Cut Files and her Blooming Wild collection.
I started my layout with Paper 5 for the background. I knew I was going to have a long story written by my daughter from her perspective of this really eerie late night traveling trying to find sleeping accommodations, so I had to figure out how I could add it. I came up with the idea to use a vellum pocket stitched behind my 3 photos which gave plenty of room for lots of text. I love how you can see just a few lines of the story peeking out between the photos. Next for the Vacation Memories Cut File sized to 10” in height I cut it from white cardstock then placed it on the right side of the page with an offset layer in a blue paper from the 12x12 Paper Pad to separate the white cut file from the background paper. Every once in a while instead of backing my cut file I like to pop up the negative space cut out of the letters. For this I used Paper 9 and Paper 15 from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I also added a patterned paper edge to the left side to balance out all the color in the cut file to the right. If you saw my previous design team project, you’ve seen me stitch the scalloped lace edge punch design before, I love the design of the punch and the added texture of stitching. Lastly, I added embellishments from the Sticker Book, Mini Flower Puffy Stickers, and a Floral Die Cut. The very last thing I added to my page was some enamel dots from my stash scattered across the layout. Thanks so much for being here and I hope you have fun creating with Paige's cut files!
