Hello friends, it's Heidi Lewis back on the blog today to share a layout inspired by an illustration I saw on Pinterest. I don't think I would ever want to go on a submarine because I get claustrophobic easily, but it was fun to make one out of paper from Garden Shoppe!
I hand cut my submarine from Paper 7 and die cut circles in the center of the submarine to make little shaker windows. Next I machine stitched the submarine onto a navy background. The submarine is embellished with Washi Tape and several border stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book. Three Washi Tape strips extending from the submarine create the effect of headlights. I added a seaweed cluster made from Floral Die Cuts to the bottom left corner. Then I cut the Fish Background from Paper 11 and arranged the fish onto my background around the ship. I made the title from a combination of mini alphabet stickers in the 8-Page Sticker Book and Thickers. I added two 2x3" photos from an aquarium on Pier 49 in San Francisco. This layout would also work well for any ocean-themed or aquarium photos. Or perhaps you've taken a tour of a real submarine or have kiddos that have submarine photos? Whatever photos you choose, I hope you feel inspired to do some summer scrapping with the Fish Background cut file!
