Hi friends! Monique Lowe here sharing a new layout using Paige's Fish Background cut file and her Blooming Wild collection. A year ago my family and I returned home to South Africa for a holiday and visited uShaka Marine world. The cut file and colorful patterned papers were perfect for documenting our deep-sea day out!
To start my layout I used a sheet of White Foundations Media Paper cut down to size to match the rest of my South Africa holiday album - 8x11.5". Then I got to work creating my background using a variety of Distress Oxides in shades of blue. I swiped them across the cardstock and then painted on water to blend the colors together. I also spritzed on Shimmerz sprays for added interest. For a bit of visual texture, I used a piece of bubble wrap packaging to stamp imperfect bubble spots on the background. Once dry, I used a different Fish Background cut file as a stencil to add in three schools of fish using Nuvo Glimmer Paste. These added lovely sparkle to my background! To back the featured Fish Background cut file, I used a variety of patterned papers from Blooming Wild including the mini version of Paper 22 from the 6x8 Paper Pad, Paper 12, Paper 16, and Paper 19. I gave each fish its own individual color, working my way through the rainbow! I added in a few tone-on-tone sequins to the larger fish to add a touch a sparkle and texture. I backed my photo with vellum and torn strips of Paper 8 and Paper 18. To give my photo a bit more room, I decided to snip the cut file in half then stuck everything down onto the background. To finish off my layout, I added some bubble gems and made my title using a word from the Chipboard Stickers and a few little Thickers. I loved creating this colorful addition to my holiday album!
