Happy Day Layout by Phil Donahue

Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here happy to be back on Paige's blog with a floral-forward layout I made using her Blooming Wild collection and Bicycle Flowers cut file. This layout features a photo of my niece during a visit to her favorite park where we got to enjoy one of the first warm days of the season while I helped her ride her bike!
To begin, I resized the Bicycle Flowers cut file to about a 10x10 inch shape and cut it from white cardstock. I backed the bicycle frame with scraps from the 12x12 Paper Pad and the flower part in a green paper from my stash. Instead of backing the beautiful yet intricate floral section with individual pieces, I opted to cover it with florals from the Sticker Book, Cardstock Stickers, and fussy cut flowers from Paper 24 which added more texture and dimension to the layout. I created my background with the purple Paper 4 from Splendid and the pink to purple ombre striped Paper 19 from Blooming Wild. The stripes reminded me of tire tracks and also complemented the dress my niece is wearing in the picture. To add more interest and a spot for embellishments, I lightly folded and adhered the upper-left corner of Paper 19 revealing the deep navy blue floral on the other side. I added my photo and the cut file to the background using foam adhesive to create even more dimension. Final touches were more florals, leaves, and butterflies placed around the page to complete the layout! I hope you found some inspiration in this layout and choose to try Paige's Bicycle Flowers cut file along with her Blooming Wild collection. Thanks for reading and have a scrappy day!
