Adorable You Layout by Yui Oku

Saturday, August 31, 2024

Hello friends! It’s Yui Oku here sharing a layout using Paige's new Adventurous collection and her Adorable You Cut File!
Adventurous has a lot of floral patterned papers and I wanted to use them together! I chose the large title Adorable You Cut File for backing with a lot of papers. I trimmed 9 floral papers to 1.25" strips from the 12x12 Paper Pad then cut them with fringe scissors. You could also use a lace edge punch. I backed each letter with 3 fringed strips. I chose a floral paper for the background too - Paper 11. I found a cute frame in the Chipboard Shapes to hold my photo. I fussy cut butterflies from Paper 19 to embellish and put them tone-on-tone. I added floral trim from the Sequins & Trims across the bottom. Then I added Floral Die Cuts to finish. It became like a flower garden! Even though Adventurous is a mostly travel-themed collection, you can make cute layouts with a lot of flowers!

Let's Fly Away Layout by Valerie Bisson

Thursday, August 29, 2024

Hi friends! Valerie Bisson here and I’m so happy to share my newest layout with you featuring Paige's Sketch & Stitch Clouds Background Cut File and her new Adventurous collection!
I chose the Sketch & Stitch Clouds Background Cut File because it was just perfect for my photo. I had my Cricut draw the sketching lines and cut the stitching holes using the blue map paper from the 12 x 12 Paper Pad or it’s Paper 4 from the individual sheets. I hand stitched the clouds with all 6 strands of white DMC thread. Since my photo was fairly large I didn’t stitch the area behind it to save precious time. After I completed all the stitching I decided it needed the cut file outline inside the stitching lines so I cut an inset at -0.04 from white cardstock so it fit nicely within the hand stitching. Now that most of the work was done it was just a matter of adding my photo, title, and embellishments. I placed embellishments on and around the edges of my photo including pieces from the Cardstock Stickers, 8-Page Sticker Book, Ephemera Die Cuts, Rub Ons, Charm Staples, and a title with the Mini Thickers. Finishing touches with a few Enamel Stickers across the page and some white acrylic paint splatters. Thank you so much for being here and I hope you’re inspired to create with Paige's cut files and Adventurous!

Dive In Layout by Sophie Delorme

Wednesday, August 28, 2024

Hello scrappy friends! Sophie Delorme here and I am happy to share this new layout with you using Paige's new Adventurous collection and her Splash Zone cut file!
I cut the Splash Zone from white cardstock and trimmed off the title portion because I wanted to use the Thickers for my title. I backed every droplet with patterned papers from Adventurous and hand stitched on each droplet with matching thread. I mounted the cut file on foam dots and placed it around my photo. I fussy cut a few scalloped borders from Paper 22 and placed them below the photo. I embellished around my photo with the Floral Die Cuts. I also added a beautiful umbrella from the Chipboard Shapes as the finishing touch. I love how summery this layout looks and I hope you like it too!

Explore Layout by Phil Donahue

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here back on Paige's blog with a fun layout featuring her Sunset cut file along with the amazing Adventurous collection!
This colorful layout features a cute photo of my niece exploring a hiking trail along with an interactive shaker element! Here's how I made it: I resized the Sunset cut file to a 10x10" square and cut it out from white cardstock. I backed the clouds with Paper 14, Paper 13, and a deep blue floral from the 12x12 Project Pad. I backed the sun rays with pieces of vellum and Paper 15. I love how the gradient in Paper 15 echoes the colors in a sun set so perfectly! I adhered a piece of acetate to the center sun portion then created a border around it using adhesive foam strips and poured sequins in the center from my remaining Sequins & Trims from the collection along with a mix from my stash. I backed it with a piece of vellum to contain everything. I added the same adhesive foam strips behind the backed cut file and placed it in the center of my background. I used a pink and gold foil paper from the 12x12 Project Pad as my main background. I cut down Paper 18 to an 11x11" square and rounded the edges to reflect the edges in the cut file and layered all elements to create concentric squares. I created my title and embellished the page with frames from the Chipboard Shapes. Final details were vellum florals from the Floral Die Cuts pack and sequins around areas of embellishment to complete the page! I hope you found some inspiration in this layout and choose to try Paige's Sunset cut file along with her beautiful Adventurous collection! Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!

Our Happy Place Layout by Monique Lowe

Monday, August 26, 2024

Hello creative friends! It’s Monique Lowe here documenting special memories from our visit to South Africa last year. I’ve paired Paige’s Adventurous collection with her Road Trip Cut File - the perfect scenic match for the beautiful view of the Drakensburg Mountains!
Starting with the Road Trip Cut File, I backed it using a variety of papers. I chose Paper 14 for a sunny, blue sky to match my photo and Paper 5 and Paper 11 for the mountains, with the darker of the two in the foreground and the lighter in the background. Paper 24 was the perfect backing for the trees and Paper 6 and Paper 15 for the road and land. I opted for these warmer tones to reflect the dry, sun-scorched grass following the hot South African summer. I used white cardstock for my background, blending Distress Oxides to create a warm glow around the cut file, adding in a few white acrylic paint splatters for interest. I crocheted a row of chain stitching using coral colored cord and stuck this down around the edge for some chunky texture! I backed my photo with torn pieces of vellum and three Chipboard frames along with pretty Floral Die Cuts. A little tab from the Ephemera Die Cuts was the perfect addition above my photo for the date. For my title, I made use of the sign post in the cut file to add in the name of the hotel we stayed at using the colorful Mini Thickers. I continued the title using gold Mini Thickers and a couple Chipboard Shapes. To finish off my layout, I stamped three little sentiments using the Acrylic Stamps and added in a few little Enamel Stickers and ink splatters. Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look! I hope something you see inspires you to take a moment to be creative and document your special moments and memories too. Pull out some Adventurous and be sure to give the Road Trip Cut File a try! Happy Crafting!

Off We Go Layout by Kelly Daye

Saturday, August 24, 2024

Hello fellow scrappers! Kelly Daye here with a new Design Team layout using Paige’s colorful Adventurous collection and two cute cut files: Off We Go and Folded Circles. My idea of the perfect flight is a nice little nap along the way. I’m always prepared for ultimate comfort with my kitty mask and puffy neck ring!
To make the background, I cut the Folded Circles from a full sheet of Paper 7 from the 12x12 Paper Pad. This ensured that when folded, the pretty florals would show off around a white center. I wanted something a little more than a plain white background but not too overwhelming because I had planned for a very colorful luggage. The Off We Go cut file was cut from white cardstock. My goal was to back it with lots of pattern and color using Paper 5Paper 6Paper 15Paper 18, and even a tag from the Card Making Kit. I made an offset of the cut file in Silhouette Studio, used a straight pin to make holes for stitching, then chain stitched with all six strands of white DMC floss. I made shakers in the letter O’s using the same technique as my Splash layout, using a stacked-paper technique rather than 3D foam tape. Learn how by watching my YouTube, beginning at 4:00 minutes. I added my photo in a frame Chipboard, embellished with a Rub OnMini Thickers, and Mini Puffy StickersFloral Die CutsEnamel Stickers, more Mini Puffy Stickers, another Rub On and that gorgeous floral airplane from the Ephemera Die Cuts made up a magic triangle around my layout. Making three focal points in a triangle on your layout is a popular scrapbook technique - it’ll take a viewer all around your project with hits of interest to focus on. Finally, to frame it all together, I chain stitched a border all around the edge using two variegated DMC threads: #4100 and #4080. I hope these tips, tricks, and details will help you celebrate your own special moments using Paige’s new Adventurous collection with your favorite Paige Evans cut files!

Memories Layout by Jackie Ashton

Thursday, August 22, 2024

Hi scrappy friends! It’s Jackie Ashton here sharing a layout using Paige's Memories Cut File and her new Adventurous collection!
I cut the Memories title from white cardstock, backed it with Paper 15, and placed foam pads behind to add dimension. Using Paper 20 as my background paper, I added a piece of Paper 2 to the center of the paper, cutting it down to 7x9” to add a base for my strips of photographs. I printed my photographs on my computer, adding 6 square photos per 6x4 paper and cut them into strips. Once these were added to my background, I added the cut file title overlapping the bottom edge. On either side of my photo I added two of the tags from Paper 5, adding some yellow twine to help bring the yellow tones to the center of my layout. To finish, I used some pieces from the Ephemera Die Cuts, phrases from the Sticker Book, arrows from the Puffy Phrase Stickers, and Enamel Stickers around the page.

Goodbye 7th Layout by Inessa Persekian

Wednesday, August 21, 2024

Hi friends, this is Inessa Persekian and I'm so excited to show you my latest layout! I have been hanging on to the last day of school pictures from last year, waiting to scrap them. And I finally got it done! I was really inspired by Paige's Books cut file and paired it with the Adventurous collection.
I love that the Books cut file works for stories and pictures beyond reading. For backing the cut file, I used a variety of papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I started with the book on the bottom and worked my way up. I mostly picked shades of blue and purple and introduced some pinks and other colors in the cut file. The butterflies are fussy cut from Paper 19 and adhered them with a dab of glue in the center. I added details with machine stitching in gold thread, enamel dots, and stickers. Have a fabulous day & see you next time!

Getaway Layout by Heidi Lewis

Tuesday, August 20, 2024

Hi friends, it's Heidi Lewis back on the blog. One of my favorite summer activities is going to Bear Lake. I used Paige's Adventurous collection and Waves Border cut file to document a photo of my nephew flying a kite at the lake.
I started with Paper 7 as my background and layered the Waves Borders over the stripes. I repeated the cut file three times to fill the entire background. Next I splattered the background with blue watercolors. Then I cut apart Paper 1, distressed the edges of three of the rectangles, and arranged them in a grid at the center of the layout. I added a 2x3 photo of my nephew to complete the grid. The background was already fairly busy, so I kept the embellishments simple. I added a few Mini Puffy Stickers, a Chipboard title, some Puffy Phrase Stickers, and a secondary title with Mini Thickers. If you ever need a quick layout, I recommend repeating a simple element like the Waves Border. All-in-all this layout only took an hour to make!

Monday, August 19, 2024

Here is the finished layout that we made in today's Make With Me Monday featuring patterned paper frames embellished tone-on-tone! I used my new Adventurous collection to create layout page featuring two photos of Jane in front of a pretty floral bush in The Bahamas. Since these pages are based on older layouts, it's so fun to see a "then & now" comparison with the original page from 2013 - 11 years ago - scroll to the bottom to see!
Here is the video for re-watching and you can find the Make With Me Monday playlist HERE.

And the sketch is based on this layout which I made back in 2013 using one of Maggie Holmes' first collections with Crate Paper - maybe even her very first?? Jane was just a little baby! 7 months old. Now she's 12. Time FLIES!
Before I had to stop doing my weekly Make With Me Monday, I had planned on creating this layout live with you all. It features Fox and my older Splendid collection! Same sketch, different results!
Sketches are a great starting point and then you can change the collection, shapes, number of photos, and more, for completely new and unique results! Thank you so much for joining me live today or in the replay!
See you again on September 16th for the next Make With Me Monday!
