Hello creative friends! It’s Monique Lowe here documenting special memories from our visit to South Africa last year. I’ve paired Paige’s Adventurous collection with her Road Trip Cut File - the perfect scenic match for the beautiful view of the Drakensburg Mountains!
Starting with the Road Trip Cut File, I backed it using a variety of papers. I chose Paper 14 for a sunny, blue sky to match my photo and Paper 5 and Paper 11 for the mountains, with the darker of the two in the foreground and the lighter in the background. Paper 24 was the perfect backing for the trees and Paper 6 and Paper 15 for the road and land. I opted for these warmer tones to reflect the dry, sun-scorched grass following the hot South African summer. I used white cardstock for my background, blending Distress Oxides to create a warm glow around the cut file, adding in a few white acrylic paint splatters for interest. I crocheted a row of chain stitching using coral colored cord and stuck this down around the edge for some chunky texture! I backed my photo with torn pieces of vellum and three Chipboard frames along with pretty Floral Die Cuts. A little tab from the Ephemera Die Cuts was the perfect addition above my photo for the date. For my title, I made use of the sign post in the cut file to add in the name of the hotel we stayed at using the colorful Mini Thickers. I continued the title using gold Mini Thickers and a couple Chipboard Shapes. To finish off my layout, I stamped three little sentiments using the Acrylic Stamps and added in a few little Enamel Stickers and ink splatters. Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look! I hope something you see inspires you to take a moment to be creative and document your special moments and memories too. Pull out some Adventurous and be sure to give the Road Trip Cut File a try! Happy Crafting!
