Here is the finished layout that we made in today's Make With Me Monday featuring the patterned barcode strips that we always save but don't really know what to do with! I used my Adventurous collection to create this page featuring colorful photos of me & Jane in front of beautiful bougainvillea bushes at Coco Cay in The Bahamas!

Here is the video for re-watching and you can find the Make With Me Monday playlist HERE.

And the sketch is based on this layout which I made for my Make Your Memory Book! For this layout I used my 10th collection with American Crafts called Go the Scenic Route.

I made a similar layout with my even older Horizon collection - it was my 7th collection if you're curious :) I love how the brighter colors on a white background give it a fresh, new vibe!

Sketches are a great starting point and then you can change the collection, shapes, number of photos, and more, for completely new and unique results! I hope this gives you some ideas for those patterned barcode strips that all my patterned papers come with or you could simply trim 1/2 x 12" paper strips to get the same effect :) Thank you so much for joining me live today or in the replay!
See you again on October 7th for the next Make With Me Monday using my Tricks & Treats collection!

Happy Together Layout by Sophie Delorme

Sunday, September 15, 2024

Hello scrappy friends! Sophie Delorme here and I am happy to share this new layout with you using Paige's Adventurous collection and her Lace Border cut file!
I cut the Lace Border twice from white cardstock and backed it with papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I placed the borders vertically on the left side of a pink/orange striped Paper 7 block. I selected 3 photos of me and my dog enjoying summer at the park. I fussy cut a few tags from Paper 21 and created a cluster of embellishments with them and some flowers from the Floral Die Cuts on the bottom right of the page. I hope you are inspired to use the Lace Border cut file along with Paige's Adventurous collection to document your everyday memories!

Spread Your Wings Layout by Phil Donahue

Saturday, September 14, 2024

Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here sharing a bright and colorful butterfly-themed layout using Paige's Butterflies Background cut file and the amazing Adventurous collection!
To begin, I applied a thin layer of gesso onto Paper 19, leaving a 1" border unprimed. This faded the butterfly background to make it a bit less chaotic while still allowing the pattern to peek through and creating an area for the cut file to be placed. I resized the Butterflies Background cut file to create an 11" square and cut it out from white cardstock. Then I backed a row of butterflies from the bottom right to top left of the cut file using Paper 12 and Paper 22 from the 12x12 Paper Pad along with navy blue and purple dot papers from the 12x12 Project Pad. Next, I adhered the cut file to my main background only gluing down the area where the photo would be placed to allow the rest of butterflies to flow off the page. I created my title using the Mini Thickers and added my photo using foam adhesive to create more depth and dimension. Lastly, I embellished the backed row of butterflies with yellow thread, sequins, and butterfly stickers from the 12x12 Project Pad and Cardstock Stickers. I placed larger stickers closer to the photo and smaller closer to the edge of the page to create a feeling of movement. I hope you found some inspiration in this layout and choose to try Paige's Butterflies Background cut file along with the amazing Adventurous collection! Thanks for reading and have a creative day!

DOUBLE-PAGE SPREADS CLASS

BEAUTIFUL Layout by Monique Lowe

Thursday, September 12, 2024

Hello creative friends! It’s Monique Lowe here with a happy new layout documenting my twins’ birthday eve - their last night of being 7! I’ve used Paige's Beautiful cut file along with a colorful assortment of patterned papers and embellishments from her Adventurous collection!
To start, I used a fresh sheet of Paper 10 to cut the Beautiful cut file. This is a fab statement cut file as its bold font fills the page and gives a fantastic opportunity for color blocking. I backed each letter with a different piece of bright patterned paper, including Paper 6Paper 9Paper 15Paper 16Paper 18Paper 19Paper 21, as well as two beautiful exclusive papers from the 12x12 Project Pad. I then added machine stitching around each letter for a bit of texture. Next, I positioned my two photos so that I could focus my embellishment clusters around them. I love tone-on-tone, and this layout follows that method. I built three little clusters using pretty flowers and leaves from the Floral Die Cuts to coordinate with the different patterned papers. Two of the clusters were around my photos and one at the top of my layout, creating a visual triangle. I added in a lovely Chipboard word piece and some Mini Thickers to complete my title. To finish my page, I added in a few little Enamel StickersPuffy Stickers, and Sequins, along with a few Distress Ink splatters to each cluster. Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek at my new layout using Adventurous and the lovely Beautiful cut file. I hope you feel inspired to be creative too! Until next time friends!

The Del Layout by Kelly Daye

Wednesday, September 11, 2024

Hello friends! It’s Kelly Daye here with another Cut File Design Team layout using Paige’s fun and colorful Adventurous collection. I’ve wanted a VW van forever, so when I spotted one parked on the beach at The Del in Coronado, I made sure to snap a photo. How perfect was Paige’s cute VW Bus cut file? Naturally, Paige’s Palm Tree cut file was a must too!
I chose pretty aqua and daisy Paper 10 as my background. All-the-pretty-things are built up on white cardstock framed with a scallop I cut from a solid found in the 12x12 Project Pad. Chain stitching all around in pink added more texture and interest. I then popped it up with foam squares to bring it to the forefront. To back the cut files, I’ve used primarily five colors: aqua, pink, yellow, green, and blue from both the 12x12 Project Pad and 12x12 Paper Pad. I mixed the colors of the palm leaves to suggest shadows and light. Think about looking at a lake, it’s not just one shade of blue or green. Jim sits in front of a cute yellow vintage VW, so naturally I had to make mine yellow too. I used sunny Paper 15 with speckled Paper 8 - it’s a fun alternative to plain white. I’ve set some luggage and a camera on the roof from the sticker sheet of the 12x12 Project Pad. I’ve already bought a second one because I’ve used it so much! There’s exclusive papers not found in the rest of the collection, another set of colorful alphabets, and an entire sheet of stickers. Hehe, did you notice my little furry passenger? The fun part for me is adding lots of fun ephemera to help tell my story and create lots of interesting layers. You’ll find it all in the Floral Die CutsEnamel StickersMini Puffy StickersRub OnsCardstock StickersEphemera Die CutsMini Thickers, and the 8-Page Sticker Book. What are some of your favorite travel destinations? Have fun scrapping your own memories with Paige’s new Adventurous collection! I’m sure there’s one or even two of Paige’s cut files that will work perfectly too!

My Boy Layout by Jackie Ashton

Tuesday, September 10, 2024

Hi scrappy friends! It’s Jackie Ashton here sharing a layout using Paige's My Boy cut file and her new Adventurous collection!
I cut the My Boy cut file from white cardstock and then cut each letter using different patterned paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad. Using Paper 10 as my background, I added the title to the lower half of the paper and then added the letters, adding foam squares on top to give them dimension. My photographs are printed to 3x4" and I backed the left photo with more papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad and added foam squares behind them, slightly overlapping the two photographs. I added my photographs to a piece of patterned paper and added it to the top of my layout. On either side of the photograph I added Floral Die Cuts, tucking them behind the layers. The Acrylic Stamps in this collection are great to add extra detail to your projects. I stamped the signpost, tag, and some of the phrases, cut them out, and added them next to my photographs. To finish I added embellishments from the Mini Puffy Stickers and Enamel Stickers. Thanks for much for stopping by! I hope you're inspired to use the My Boy cut file and the new Adventurous collection!

Monday, September 9, 2024

Hey friends, Inessa Persekian here! Do you have airplane/airport pics from a vacation? Get them documented with this fun Airplane Background cut file by Paige and her new Adventurous collection!
I cut the Airplane Background cut file about 11" square and backed it with a variety of papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad and Paper 16 and Paper 21. The entire piece was then adhered with foam tape on Paper 2. I added four 3" square photos and embellished them with ThickersFloral Die CutsEphemera Die Cuts, and twine from my stash. I made the final touches with Enamel Stickers and glitter glue. I hope you find inspiration to create something! Happy crafting!

Looking Sharp Layout by Heidi Lewis

Saturday, September 7, 2024

Hi friends, it's Heidi Lewis back on the blog today sharing a layout that utilizes Paige's Cactus Border cut file and her Adventurous collection to document a photo of a beautiful botanical garden in St George, Utah!
I colored the Cactus Border with watercolors and then backed it with vellum. Then I tore the edges off of a sheet of white cardstock and adhered it to the center of Paper 7. I arranged the cut file towards the bottom of the page and added a 3x4 photo to the right-hand side. I created custom embellishments for the layout including garden tags made from flag-shaped pieces from the 8-Page Sticker BookWashi Tape, toothpicks, and a fussy-cut Stamped image. I finished off the garden scene with cute little plants and animals pulled from the Mini Puffy StickersCardstock Stickers, and Floral Die Cuts. I used an acrylic piece from my stash for the title (I can never resist a good pun lol), and there you have it, another easy peasy summer breezy layout!

So Happy Layout by Danielle Miller

Wednesday, September 4, 2024

Hi friends, it’s Danielle Miller with a new layout using Paige's Heart Frame cut file and her Adventurous collection!
I just adore how all these gorgeous patterned papers work together. I could not stop layering!
I sized the Heart Frame cut file cut file to 8.5" square, cut it from white cardstock, then backed it with Paper 22. Those yellow flowers just pop off the page! Then I layered Paper 1Paper 9Paper 15, and Paper 24. Each one is slightly bigger, depending on how much color I wanted to show. The solid aqua paper is from the 12x12 Project Pad. I used Floral Die CutsEphemera Die CutsPuffy Phrase Stickers, and Cardstock Stickers to embellish. I hope you enjoy!

Love This Lake Life Layout by Audrey Mutschall

Tuesday, September 3, 2024

Hello friends!! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout featuring Paige’s Love This Lake Life cut file and her Adventurous collection!
I always love a large title design because you can use so many pretty patterned papers together without overwhelming the layout. I cut the Love This Lake Life cut file from white cardstock and backed it with a variety of papers from the 12x12 Paper Pad, 12x12 Project Pad, 6x8 Paper Pad, and Boxed Cards. I adhered the cut file to a white background using foam tape and tucked my photos beneath it at the top right and bottom left. Next I embellished the cut file with Floral Die Cuts, Cardstock Stickers, Mini Puffy Stickers, Chipboard Shapes, and fussy cut butterflies from Paper 19. I also tucked tags from Paper 5 behind each of my photos and added journaling on one of them. Lastly, I created a border at the top and bottom of the layout using strips of Paper 13 and Paper 22. I had so much fun making this layout and I hope it inspires you to try a large title cut file for your next project!

Adventure Awaits Layout by Ashley Neu

Monday, September 2, 2024

Hi friends! It’s Ashley Neu here for the Paige Evans Cut File Design Team to share my next project! Have you had the chance to pick up any of Paige’s Adventurous collection? It’s amazing! I have said this before and I’ll say it again - Paige’s collections are so versatile. You can use this collection for vacations, outdoor adventures, girl-themed layouts, boy-themed layouts, and so much more! I used it to document a trip we took to a local waterfall. Using both the Adventure Awaits cut file and the Splash cut file, I was able to scrap 27 photos on a double page spread!
To begin the assembly of the left page, I cut the Adventure Awaits cut file from white cardstock, backed it with patterned papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad and added the words “Falls Park” with the Mini Thickers on top. I layered 3 photos above the title and then added the Splash cut file, which was cut from a piece of tone-on-tone blue patterned paper from my stash. To add some fun dimension to this page, I did hand stitching over random splashes and over the trees next to the word “awaits”. The Pops of Color - Sky Blue was perfect to add in smaller splashes amongst the Splash cut file. This was achieved by adding a small dot and dragging it out with a needle. The right page was super simple to create: using Paper 18, I added (24) 1.75” square photos. This patterned paper is perfect for this kind of technique. I embellished some of the squares with the Sticker Book, Puffy Phrase Thickers, and Cardstock Stickers. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

August 2024 Highlights

Sunday, September 1, 2024

Here's what we were up to in August 2024!
Fox started 8th grade and Jane started 7th grade so they're both in middle school which here is just grades 7 and 8 so they rode to school together.
Off they go!
Jane lasted 2 weeks and then we decided to homeschool her. Hopefully she'll thrive being at home. Middle school girls can be so cruel, I remember very very vividly.
I needed some pictures for an upcoming double-page spread (yes you read that right, a DPS instead of a single 12x12 layout!) and since she's home with me all day now, I assigned her a photoshoot with me :)
She's my darling daughter.
One night for dinner we went to Steakhouse 10 which is a Greek steakhouse. This soup was delicious!
We celebrated Chris turning 39!
It was pretty cold one day so I got to wear this fun embroidered jacket.
Deciding on checkerboard tiles for our upcoming bathroom reno.
Sunshine & rainbows!
Family date night.
We took Tom & Margi out to dinner to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at 801 Chophouse.
So much yummy food.
I enlisted Fox's help to make ribbon bundles.
The only part of the Olympics we watched was the last round of golf.
It was fun to watch Scottie receive the gold medal and tear up during the national anthem.
I'm a new golf fan after watching both seasons of Full Swing on Netflix and seeing the reign of Scottie has been so cool. This guy!
When we found out the BMW Championship was going to be right in our backyard (seriously, only 15 minutes away) we hastily bought tickets and counted down the days until the tournament! We invited Tom Evans to come with us and took the back roads to the Castle Pines Golf Course.
Huge fields were turned into parking lots and then buses shuttled the thousands of spectators to the entrance. It was all very organized.
Checking out the course.
So fun!
I told people to be on the lookout for us on TV ;)
Gorgeous.
We walked up to the Club House. It was very hilly.
Of course I took a lot of pictures of flowers.
As we were walking through the Club House, Wyndham Clark emerged and almost bumped into me! I wish I had said hi or ANYTHING but I was too shy.
We watched the players warm up.
I spy Scottie with my own eyes!!
THE Scottie Scheffler!
I'm also a new fan of football but I must admit I didn't know who John Elway is. But there he is!
Fly by!
Scottie and Xander walking to tee off.
Scottie and Xander are teamed together often, I hope they're good friends.
Such a beautiful day!
The houses around the golf course though... holy moly!
While Tom was sitting we decided to walk around the course. All of a sudden a ball almost hit us so we gathered to watch Billy Horschel correct course.
We walked up to the 14th tee box and found front row seats to watch some of the players drive, including Scottie and Xander.
Since they were a "Featured Group" on the TV broadcast, every one of their shots was televised and we showed up in the background! That's Chris in the mint shirt to the right of the guy holding the yellow signs and I'm just to the left in the hat.
I'm chuffed that we made it on TV for a split second lol.
Then we walked back down to Tom.
For the rest of the tournament we sat in our seats at the 16th hole and watched all the players. It was really fun!
We got to see: Sahith Theegala / Matt Fitzpatrick / Will Zalatoris / Austin Eckroat
Tommy Fleetwood & Chris Kirk / Viktor Hovland / Sahith Theegala / Ludvig Ã…berg
Scottie Scheffler / Rory McIlroy / Rory
McIlroy & Wyndham Clark / Wyndham Clark
Hideki Matsuyama (Olympic bronze medalist this year) / Collin Morikawa /
Akshay Bhatia / Tony Finau
We'll find out TODAY (Sunday September 1st) if Scottie wins the FedEx cup for 2024!
*****************************************
We saw 2 movies in the theater in August - It Ends with Us & Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I love that our movie theater plays old movies!
*****************************************
Onto our cute kitties! :)
Copy, paste, repeat.
Silly & sweet Sandy! Always getting into nooks and crannies and open spaces.
She does not like to be alone so I have pics of her from all over the house, wherever I or anyone else in the family may be. I bet she wishes there were 4 of herself so she could be with all 4 of us at any given time.
Adorable Amy mostly follows me around and sleeps on my legs every single night. It's the best thing in the whole wide world.
Amy likes to sleep a lot more than Sandy and prefers super soft and plush blankets stacked 5 deep if possible :)
Snoozing in my happy scrappy space while I work.
On the left pic, Sandy is asking Amy, "How do I get wings?". It's an inside joke ;) The night before I go on trips the cats must know because they always get super snuggly. This was the evening before I flew to Georgia.
Whenever Phoebe the bunny is running around the cats come investigate her.
*****************************************
Onto scrappy things! I shared 6 of my own projects throughout August: a scrapbook, two mini albums, and three layouts! Tap the links to see each project more in depth:
I met up with Jessica of Color Cast Designs to pick up my order of custom black acrylic haunted houses! These are for our upcoming Tricks & Treats Weekend in-person event which is sold out but you can still email me to get on the waitlist.
Andrea Lake will be using these for the base of her mini album. I'm so EEKcited, it's going to be sooo BOOtiful!
At the beginning of August I created my class samples for the in-person event in Alpharetta, Georgia!
Making kits with Adventurous for the event.
I had enough leftovers to make some Adventurous starter kits but they did sell out quickly - thank you to those who purchased one!
Remember last month when I flew to Seattle and started a project with my dad - making MemoryDex trays? I bought all the necessary supplies to continue assembling them at home.
I got a good system down and was able to make about 20 boxes a day.
5 days later, I had all the boxes ready to be sanded! Time to order a sander.
It took a very circuitous route to finally reach me (Kansas City to Denver to Salt Lake City, back to Denver, down to Colorado Springs, and finally to me south of Denver!) and then Chris put it together.
A couple days later I rolled the heavy duty sander outside and went to town sanding down all the boxes.
It was messy lol. But sooo much faster than sanding by hand!
A couple coats of orange paint, a metal label super glued on the front, and a fun memento for the weekend and we're set for the event!
Always fun things in the works - Andrea, Lindsay and I are planning an in-person event in Omaha in March 2025 - stay tuned for all the details!
I drew a sketch of a super fun flag sequin album, sent it to Gi DeMello, and she made my dreams come true and then some! It turned out SO FREAKING CUTE!
There will only be 50 of these albums made in the entire world and they will only be available to those attending my in-person event in Wallace, Idaho next July 5th & 6th 2025!! Hope to see you there so you can get your hands one one of these cuties! Register HERE.
Speaking of Gi DeMello, we are also planning 4 more collaborations! First, this Christmas-tree shaped sequin album. It's amazing. Simply amazing. We'll have two colors schemes: traditional & pink/blue/winter wonderland, as well as a traditional 6x8 Christmas sequin album.
And last but not least a 6x8 pastel Disney sequin album! Just waiting on the last 2 samples and then I'll open pre-orders so keep an eye on the SCRAPBOOK SUPPLIES section of MY SHOP!
My box of ribbons leftover from classes was overflowing so I had the idea to make ribbon bundles.
Trimmed them all, counted them all, collated them all, and bagged them all.
Amy su"purrrr"vising hehe.
These also sold out quickly - so grateful for my scrappy friends!
I have resumed Make With Me Monday on a monthly basis and started up again on August 19th!
You can re-watch the live HERE (as well as all of my previous MWMMs in a YouTube playlist HERE) and the next one will be September 16th!
The 4th weekend in August I flew to Atlanta, Georgia then Sarah picked me up and we drove to Alpharetta to attend a scrapbooking event with 60 friends! Read my recap of the event HERE.
Instead of waiting for my Tricks & Treats order to be delivered I drove up to Denver and got it myself so I wouldn't have to wait 5 more days lol. I'm impatient ;)
Putting Tricks & Treats pre-orders together!!
Because 2 of the items were super duper delayed (still no sign of them as of August 31st) I added a pre-cut Halloween title and custom sequins (from Gi of course!) to the pre-orders. Be sure to pick up Tricks & Treats whenever and wherever you can as it's flying off the shelves, woohoo!!!
On August 31st I taught a virtual class for Scrap & Learn! We made a double-page spread and two single 12x12 layouts using my Adventurous collection. Time always flies when teaching because I'm having fun!
My next kit & virtual classes are dropping soon!!!!! Can't stop, won't stop adding ribbons :)
Featuring the lovely Gingham Garden collection and these custom acrylic flower covers, we'll learn how to make a pretty mini album and TWO double-page spreads! I'll open orders to my PaigePals first so stay tuned - planning to release within 2-3 weeks!
I'm hoping for maybe, possibly, hopefully a slightly slower paced September?? :)
