Hi friends! Heidi Lewis here to share my first Tricks & Treats layout with you featuring Paige's Boo Spiderwebs cut file! I am in LOVE with this collection. I was immediately drawn to all the pretty Washi Tapes and wanted to make a layout featuring them. A layout by Missy Whidden was my starting point for inspiration.
First, I ripped each design of the 8 Washi Tapes into 5-inch strips and applied the strips down the middle of a white cardstock background, leaving some empty space in the center for mixed media. My thought was that some negative space was needed to keep the page from becoming too busy. Next, I added machine stitching with black thread between each of the strips to help define them. Then I added clear gesso to the center of the page and once the gesso had dried, painted the area with Shimmerz Razzle Dazzle Berry. I also added some orange watercolors and white acrylic paint splatters. Once the background was complete, I added the Boo Spiderwebs cut file as my title and a 3x4 photo of the "Scary Squad." Last, I clustered most of the embellishments around my photo and title and scattered a few additional embellishments among the washi tapes. The embellishments include Ephemera Die Cuts, Floral Die Cuts, Cardstock Stickers, and black thread. I hope you feel inspired to do some spooky scrapping with Paige's Tricks & Treats collection and her cut files!
