Spread Your Wings Layout by Phil Donahue

Hello scrappy friends! Phil Donahue here sharing a bright and colorful butterfly-themed layout using Paige's Butterflies Background cut file and the amazing Adventurous collection!
To begin, I applied a thin layer of gesso onto Paper 19, leaving a 1" border unprimed. This faded the butterfly background to make it a bit less chaotic while still allowing the pattern to peek through and creating an area for the cut file to be placed. I resized the Butterflies Background cut file to create an 11" square and cut it out from white cardstock. Then I backed a row of butterflies from the bottom right to top left of the cut file using Paper 12 and Paper 22 from the 12x12 Paper Pad along with navy blue and purple dot papers from the 12x12 Project Pad. Next, I adhered the cut file to my main background only gluing down the area where the photo would be placed to allow the rest of butterflies to flow off the page. I created my title using the Mini Thickers and added my photo using foam adhesive to create more depth and dimension. Lastly, I embellished the backed row of butterflies with yellow thread, sequins, and butterfly stickers from the 12x12 Project Pad and Cardstock Stickers. I placed larger stickers closer to the photo and smaller closer to the edge of the page to create a feeling of movement. I hope you found some inspiration in this layout and choose to try Paige's Butterflies Background cut file along with the amazing Adventurous collection! Thanks for reading and have a creative day!
