Halloween Porch Layout by Valerie Bisson

Thursday, October 3, 2024

Valerie Bisson here today and I’m so happy to be back sharing a new Halloween layout with you featuring the Spiderweb Frame and Porch from Paige's 20 Halloween Cut Files, all paired with her new Tricks & Treats collection!
Both the Spiderweb Frame and Porch cut files were cut from black cardstock. For the Spiderweb Frame I shrunk it down to 6 inches and cut it apart into 4 pieces, one for each corner of my page, then topped them with silver paint splatters on a white cardstock background. Next onto the Porch cut file, I backed it with several different patterned papers from Tricks & Treats. The cut files did all the heavy lifting in this layout so just a few embellishments sprinkled throughout including pieces from the Cardstock Stickers, Enamel Dots, Mini Puffy Stickers, Ephemera Die Cuts, Floral Die Cuts, and Puffy Phrase Thickers. I hope you have spooktacular time creating with Tricks & Treats and Halloween Cut Files!

Trick or Treat Layout by Sophie Delorme

Wednesday, October 2, 2024

Hello friends! It's Sophie Delorme with you today and I am so excited to share my very first layout made with Paige's Tricks & Treats collection along with her Bat Border from the 13 Halloween Cut Files!
I cut the Bat Border from white cardstock and used several ink colors from my stash to paint the bats. I adhered them to their center only to make sure that their wings would be curled up a little bit. I hand stitched the borders of the cut file with white thread to add texture. I used a photo of my two labradors Fiona and Farine trick or treating on a past Halloween! I embellished around the photo with Ephemera Die Cuts and Floral Die Cuts and used the Puffy Phrase Thickers for my title. On the bottom of the page, I selected a few strips of Washi Tape and a strip from Paper 7 to ground everything. Oh gosh this was fun to make! I love the color scheme of the Tricks & Treats collection so much! Be sure to check out the 13 Halloween Cut Files!

September 2024 Highlights

Here's what we were up to throughout September 2024!
On Labor Day we went with Tom & Margi up to Buc-ee's! This was our family's very first time to this Texas-based store.
When Tom takes the pic hahahaha.
The size alone is astounding!
The food, the snacks, the options, it's overwhelmingly awesome.
Fox meeting the mascot.
The weather in Colorado is almost always phenomenal. Blue skies and sunshine.
We watched Scottie Scheffler win the FedEx Cup. Go Scottie!!
One of my Buc-ee's purchases since I'm a new football fan.
Sunday Night Football.
Love being able to watch multiple games at once! I'm a BO-liever! IYKYK.
Another lunch date to Kneaders with Jane.
She's becoming more interested in fashion.
Her artistic skills are top notch. She got a new haircut and looks adorable.
Fox is taking a cooking class at school and made homemade chips & salsa for a snack - delish!!
We went to Cherry Cricket and everything was so yummy.
Chris and I on our way to a concert at the Ball Arena.
 Hello Denver!
I've been to several hockey games at the Ball Arena before but never a concert. Cool to see how they convert it.
Coheed and Cambria opened the show. Somehow I've seen them twice lol.
Then Incubus played their entire Morning View album. It was spectacular.
A couple days later my dad texted the family asking who's painting this is and do they want it. THAT'S MINE and yes I want it! I was a little obsessed with Incubus in high school and made this ink drawing of Brandon Boyd. Funny that we saw him just days before this painting resurfaced. He looks the same!
On the subject of music, Linkin Park has a new lead singer named Emily Armstrong! She rocks.
I watched the live reveal and concert on YouTube and I had chills the entire time. I have 5 favorite bands and Linkin Park is one of them. The others are Chevelle, Cartel, Rain City Drive, and Dayseeker.
Super excited for new Linkin Park music. I was absolutely shattered when Chester Bennington died in 2017, he was only 41. That's just 2 years older than me. So sad. No one can ever replace Chester, but I am loving their new music so far.
I hung some dimensional flower paintings downstairs.
Speaking of flowers, they're still blooming!
Chris and his partners hosted an end of summer work party at a Rockies game against the Dodgers.
We lost but it was fun to see Ohtani hit a three-run home run on this pitch. Doin' his thang!
Chris making me a crown :)
Me throughout the month.
I read both of these books within 3 days. Loved them.
We set up for Halloween a couple days early!
*****************************************
We saw 2 movies in the theater in September: the 10th anniversary showing of Whiplash and Speak No Evil - love/d them both!
*****************************************
Onto the cutest kitties, Sandy & Amy!
We had the windows open a lot in the mornings with the cooler fall weather and it's their favorite thing to sit and watch the goings on outside. I caught Sandy licking Amy :)
Little rascals! They looooove box hopping.
Another window pic and playing in cardstock remnants.
Amy with a Buc'ees cap. / She slept on and under the pink couch a lot in September. / Picture purrrrfect. / Snuggling Fox's hand.
I went live on instagram and Amy literally watched on my phone for a whole minute! SO FUNNY!
She appeared throughout the live and was the star of the show, let's be honest.
*****************************************
Onto scrappy things! I only shared 1 layout of my own in September, wow that's a record low!! Not that I haven't been creating, there is always so much happening behind the scenes (as you'll see below!), I guess I just took a break from sharing my projects on my blog. I'll do better next month :)
I resumed doing Make With Me Monday on a monthly basis. We made the above layout together.
You can watch the live HERE.
Before moving onto all things Halloween, I went back and finished my cruise scrapbook. I still need to share a video flip through on YouTube but you can purchase the class PDF with all of the photos and instructions HERE.
I released my next kit & virtual classes and the kits sold out in 24 hours - THANK YOU SO MUCH scrappy friends! I hope to have the next kit & classes in about a month!
You can still purchase virtual access to the Gingham Garden double spread layouts class HERE and the acrylic flower mini album class HERE.
I do still have a few acrylic flower covers available in my shop: matte pink & mint green.
I stopped in my local JoAnn to buy some fabric (yes, you read that correctly, FABRIC! It's for my next kit and class as an embellishment ;) and the New + Noteworthy section was stocked with all the new designer collections!
Onto HALLOWEEN!! Yay!! My Tricks & Treats collection is basically sold out everywhere which I apologize for, we just underestimated the demand, but hopefully I'll have another similar Halloween collection next year!!
I did a tutorial showing how to embroider the die cuts pack which you can watch HERE.
I started working on the projects that we'll create at our in-person Tricks & Treats Weekend event which is sold out but you can join the waitlist by sending me an email paigetaylorevans@gmail.com.

Amy always su"purr"vising my work.
I gathered all the Tricks & Treats Weekend ribbons & threads, trimmed them, and bagged them up to go into the event kits.
Then I put the Tricks & Treats Weekend kits together! I love this part :)
LOL.
I spent a few days making my MemoryDex cards for the swap at Tricks & Treats Weekend. Sequin shakers for the win!
Gi sent me the cutest Halloween sequin tote which I am using to carry my MemDex cards to the event.
After much demand Jessica at Color Cast Designs has opened pre-orders for the acrylic globe stand & charm to go along with my Globe Mini Album Virtual Class.
4 new styles of sequin albums are now available in my shop: All 4 / Christmas 6x8 / Pastel Disney 6x8 / Winter Tree / Traditional Tree
We announced a new in-person event: Join Paige Evans, Andrea Lake, and Lindsay Wahl at our Spring Fling Weekend for two and a half fun-filled days of learning & creating at The Scrapbook Haven in Omaha, Nebraska! Only 3 spots left at the time I write this!
There are only 11 spots left to join me at my 4th of July Scrapbook Event in Wallace, Idaho! This flag sequin album handmade by Gi DeMello will be an event exclusive, only those attending will be able to get their hands on one! Hope to see you there!
Registration opens on Friday for the Crafting through the Holidays event on October 9th-12th 2025 in Conroe, Texas! Join Paige Evans, Vicki Boutin, and Layle Koncar for the where you'll learn how to create Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas-themed projects!
I'll end with a little sneak of a future kit & class!
Here's to a spooktacular and fangtastic October!
