Hi friends, it’s Ashley Neu here for the Paige Evans Cut File Design Team to share my next layout! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas so it’s time to take out Paige’s gorgeous Sugarplum Wishes collection. The Merry Christmas Lights cut file was exactly what I needed to add to this fun colorful Christmas layout (supplies linked at the end).
To begin the layout, I grabbed Paper 11 and trimmed off the first row of trees from the top. I wanted to do some sporadic stitching on the trees so I picked a couple dozen trees, poked holes, and hand stitched with coordinating embroidery floss. After adhering this paper onto pink cardstock, this became the base of my layout. The Merry Christmas Lights cut file was cut from white cardstock and backed with papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I used 2 of each pattern within the letters. To give the strands of lights attached to the words some sparkle, I backed them with glitter cardstock. To help the lights pop even more off of the background, I twirled coordinating embroidery floss around my fingers and tucked it under each light. This makes the lights appear as if they are glowing! Lastly, after attaching the cut file and my photos to the background, I added 3 flowers from the Floral & Snowflake Die Cuts. I didn’t want to go too embellishment heavy as my background was already pretty busy. I hope you love this layout as much as I do. Thank you for stopping by!
