It's the 12 Days of Holiday Giving on the Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog and I made a layout for Day 2 featuring the Holly Jolly Holiday collection by Crate Paper and a new Holiday Border cut file I designed which you can download for free on the SCT blog!
I backed my Holiday Border cut file cut from textured white cardstock using some of the papers from the 12x12 paper pad as well as additional patterns found in the boxed cards set. To enhance my page and give it a homespun look, I added hand-stitching details around the ornaments and French knots through the dots using these DMC thread colors:
A 3 x 4″ photo tucked into the ornaments provides a memory captured for a lifetime, all tied together with a pretty poinsettia flower at the top. Other details include a scalloped border cardstock sticker lining the cut file along the top edge, a sprinkling of white acrylic paint as the first layer on the background reminiscent of snow, and popping the cut file with foam squares to create dimension and shadows.
I hope you’ve found some inspiration in my layout today and you’re excited to cut out this ornament border and scrapbook a holiday memory! Have a happy scrappy day!
