Hey friends, welcome back and Happy New Year! Inessa Persekian here and I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating (or resting) and that your year is off to a great start. For this layout, I chose to work with the Happy New Year Star from the 36 New Year Cut Files. It was perfect for documenting our celebration!
I used Paige's Adventurous collection for this layout, sticking to a mix of pink, gold, teal, and light blue. These colors worked beautifully together and my black & white photos printed at 2x3". While the collection is very colorful and works well with full-color photos, I opted for black & white to create a more cohesive look, especially since my photos featured lots of different colors. For the background, I chose the pink-striped Paper 2 from the collection to frame white cardstock trimmed to 11x11". I added gold machine stitching around the edges, a detail I love incorporating into my layouts because it adds such a polished touch. Before adhering anything else, I lightly traced the outline of the star from the cut file and added gold spray to the background. This subtle mixed media element added shimmer and shine, perfectly fitting the New Year’s vibe. For the Happy New Year Star cut file, I backed it with a mix of solid papers from the Project Pad and accented it with a gold and pink floral print from the same pad. I left the outline of the star open so the gold spray could peek through. To adhere the cut file to the background, I used foam tape for dimension and tucked my photos into the top and bottom corners. For embellishments, I added Mini Puffy Stickers, Enamel Dots, and Chipboard Pieces. The layout is simple yet full of detail thanks to the layered embellishments and textures. I love how this page turned out and I hope it inspires you to create something special. See you next time!
