Hi! It’s Inessa Persekian back on the blog with a new 12x12 layout featuring Paige's Adventurous collection and her Flower cut file.
I started with a 12x12 sheet of white textured cardstock as my base and layered the Floral Transparency on top. To add a bit of texture, I stitched a border all around the edge using my sewing machine. For the focal point, I used Paige’s Flower cut file, cutting it in three different sizes from white cardstock: 11", 9", and 7". I stacked them for a dimensional effect and added a stitched white cardstock circle (3.5" wide) in the center. My photo is a 3" circle, perfectly framed inside the stitched center. To give the layout more depth, I used foam adhesive behind the center circle. For finishing touches I added puffy phrase stickers like “Favorite Place” and “Love” at the bottom, tucked in floral ephemera and fussy cut butterflies from Paper 19, scattered a few enamel dots for extra pops of color, and added a bit of glitter glue to the center of the pink flowers and on the butterfly wings for a subtle shimmer. I absolutely love how this turned out! It’s a simple yet impactful way to use cut files and I hope it inspires you to give it a try. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. See you next time!
I used the contour function in Cricut to hide all the stitching holes and super-size my letters. I cut out the letters twice, once from white cardstock and again from acetate. I turned the letters into shaker pockets by stitching around the outside of the letters with black thread. I arranged the letters on the bold striped Paper 13 and then added Thickers to the center to complete my title. I tucked 2x3 photos of my husband fishing behind the "A" and "K." I finished off the layout by scattering chipboard buttons around the page and layering a foam sticker over the "M". I love how this layout has a masculine vibe, but still sparkles!
Hello scrappy friends! Today I'm sharing another one of the layouts that I taught how to create with the Lovely Blooms collection at the Pinkfresh Studio May 2023 Create & Connect virtual event. I had a bunch of frames leftover and decided to cascade them down a pretty pink floral paper.
To make this page, trim off the barcode strip from the floral/striped Bloom Brightly paper to use as the background. Back two frame Chipboard Stickers and one scalloped frame from the Ephemera with 2¼” square photos and trim any excess.
Place the frames as well as additional labels, journaling spots, frames, sentiments, and more, in a wonky grid on the right half of the page as shown, not overlapping the flowers printed on the left half. Journal on one (or more!) of the labels and write the date with colored pens. Fill in some of the gaps with Enamel Dots to finish.
Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you have any questions and have a happy scrappy day!
I started by cutting three Stamps out of white cardstock and backing the two smaller stamps with patterned papers. The larger stamp became a frame for my photo. I also created a small offset from navy cardstock for each of the stamps to help them stand out from the white background. Next I got to work creating my background. I trimmed white cardstock down to 11” square and stuck it onto yellow patterned Paper 15 from the Adventurous collection. Next I added a chunk of stamps Paper 8 along with scalloped borders from Paper 22. I arranged my cut files onto the background and embellished with fussy cut flowers and other elements from Go the Scenic Route plus Ephemera Die Cuts and Puffy Phrase Stickers from Adventurous. I also added a back-stitched border and a few other touches of hand stitching on the page.
Hello scrappy friends, happy Monday! Speaking of Monday, I just finished a live MAKE WITH ME MONDAY showing how to create this quick & easy Circle Accordion Mini Album! Once you learn how to make the base, you can change the patterns, colors, collection, attach two or three bases back-to-back, decorate both sides, and so many other ways to change and adapt this project for your needs!
You can watch the replay below:
Find all of my previous Make With Me Monday lives in a playlist HERE.
Here is an explanation of all the files in the Circle Accordion Mini Album Dropbox folder and to create this mini album you’ll need one circle accordion mini album base sized at 11½” across, 9 wedges (sized about 3¾x5”), and one photo wedge template printed out for making shaped photos:
PE-circle-accordion-mini-album-base.studio3 - this is the file to use to cut the mini album base from your chosen patterned paper or cardstock if you have a Silhouette Cameo.
PE-circle-accordion-mini-album-base.svg - this is the file to use to cut the mini album base from your chosen patterned paper or cardstock if you have a Cricut or Brother.
PE-circle-page-1.pdf / PE-circle-page-2.pdf / PE-circle-page-3.pdf - if you do not have an electronic cutting machine, you will need to print these three PDF templates at 100% on regular 8½x11” printer paper (the thinner the better) and we piece them together during the live to be able to create the mini album base by hand.
PE-photo-wedge.pdf - print this out at 100% onto 8½x11” paper, the thicker the better, to use for cutting wedge-shaped photos.
PE-wedges.pdf - if you do not have an electronic cutting machine, print this template at 100% on regular 8½x11” printer paper to cut out 9 wedges from your chosen patterned papers. The dots are the templates for poking holes for hand stitching which is optional.
PE-wedges.studio3 - this is the file to use to cut the 9 wedges from your chosen patterned papers if you have a Silhouette Cameo. You can choose to cut the wedges with or without stitching holes, both styles are included in this file.
PE-wedges.svg - this is the file to use to cut the 9 wedges from your chosen patterned papers if you have a Cricut or Brother. You can choose to cut the wedges with or without stitching holes, both styles are included in this file. *If you resize anything you'll need to resize all the pieces together so that they fit.* PATTERNED PAPERS I USED: Mini Album Base - Paper 10 and 9 Wedges - Paper 2, Paper 9, Paper 15, Paper 18, Paper 20, Paper 22 and 3 patterns from the 12x12 Project Pad (dark pink, purple checkered, and pink plaid).
PHOTO SIZES: (2) 2x2½", (2) 2" square, and (2) wedge shaped (the template is in the Dropbox folder).
Thanks so much for stopping by! Let me know if you have any questions! Have a happy scrappy day!
Hi friends! It’s Ashley Neu here for the Paige Evans Cut File Design Team to share my next project. Going back into my stash, I pulled out Paige’s Bungalow Lane collection to document some photos from a trip to the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD. Paige’s Corn on the Cob cut file was PERFECT for this layout!
After cutting the Corn on the Cob from white cardstock, I backed it with papers from the 6x8 paper pad. I created a grid style layout by adding eight 2x2 photos in a “circle” and one 4x4 photo to the center of a piece of white cardstock. To create the title, I used the Thickers found in the Bungalow Lane collection to spell out ‘Corn’. The tiny blue Thickers are also from a past Paige collection! The title says ‘It’s Corn’, which if you remember the viral song about “Corn… a big lump of knobs”, this will all make more sense! To frame in the layout a bit more, I added a strip to the top and bottom from Paper 4. I added 3 trees found in the Chipboard Stickers in the collection as well as 6 half circles, 3 on top and 3 on bottom of the layout. Lastly, I wrote my journaling. The way I have it laid out, you start reading it from the top middle photo and work your way around clockwise, ending with the top left photo next to the blue tree. I thought this added a bit of whimsy! Thank you for stopping by Paige’s blog today and have a wonderful day!
Larger suitcases can be purchased in sets of 12 from my Amazon shop HERE and the smaller suitcases can be purchased in sets of 6 from my Amazon shop HERE.
I had so much fun embellishing all the sides and insides of these cute miniature suitcases.
Inside the large suitcase is a tag mini album made of 18 paper tags and (16) 3x4" photos. Hand stitching is optional but I do show how to start and finish a chain stitch during the class and I've listed the DMC threads I used in the class PDF.
TAG FRONTS
TAG BACKS
Too cute :)
Here are both suitcases next to each other so you can see the size difference. The large suitcase is approximately 3.74"L x 1.97"W x 8.66"H with the handle extended and the small suitcase is about 2.95"x1.38"x6.7" with the handle extended.
Inside the small suitcase is an envelope mini album made up of 5 patterned paper envelopes filled with gift cards - the perfect present to give to loved ones headed out on an adventure!
You could actually use even more envelopes than I did, there is plenty of space inside the little suitcase.
