For Throwback Thursday I'm sharing a layout that I made in 2012 - thirteen years ago. Please tell me how time flies so quickly?!? Fox was not even 2 and now he'll be 15 in October! Since we're traveling down memory lane, let me explain the backstory of the photos on this page. I spent a LOT of time outside when Fox & Jane were babies - the weather was basically always sunny and 70 degrees in South Pasadena and Fox really enjoyed exploring our neighborhood, picking the hundreds of dandelions that sprouted wildly everywhere, then blowing the seeds into the wind. I miss those days!
This layout features a mix of Hambly Studios (remember that awesome company?! Too many have come and gone in the 24 years that I've been scrapbooking!), ribbons from my stash, and Amy Tangerine Thickers. I folded various ribbons, trims, and printed transparency strips in half and then cascaded them down the top part of the page. A dandelion between the photos emphasizes the theme and a little cluster of additional folded bits at the bottom ties that technique together.
I love the texture, patterns, and dimension! Also notice the two trios of hand stitched "x"s - yup, I've loved stitching for a loooong time!
I have so many layouts that I created before social media was a big thing, hopefully I can continue to share some of my favorites!
Thanks for stopping by and have a happy scrappy day!
Are the ribbons glued or all stitched? Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThey're stitched in place :)
