Spring 2001 Layout by Kelly Daye

Hello scrappy friends! Kelly Daye here and this April Jim and I will celebrate 24 years of marriage. We were married in a garden filled with lots of spring flowers including tulips, daffodils, wisteria, and cherry blossoms. Of course on my layout I wanted to have lots of flowers too! I’ve used these pretty Paige Evans layered flower cut files: Yellow FlowersPink FlowersBlue Flowers, and Purple Flowers. I thought the Tandem Bicycle was a nice nod to the two of us. It was all built up on Paige’s Chevron Background. I’ve used the classic Bloom Street collection because the colors remind me so much of Spring and Easter.
I doubled up the layers of the Chevron Background to give it more of a presence, paper-backed it, added an offset in soft pink just to help it stand off the white background, and then popped it up on foam tape. Sounds like a lot of steps but I like to make a big effort on the background - it really sets the stage for all the pretty things. The bicycle is also made with two layers of white cardstock but each was separated with foam strips - I love how it looks more 3D! I hope these ideas can be incorporated into your own pretty layouts using Paige's collections and cut files!
